8-8 record and keep Rivera. Or 3-13 and get good draft position?

fug draft position. The players are gonna play to win (as well they should).

this times a million.

i want this team winning.

i don't want a team that is satisfied with losing.

i hope that this team can turn it around. i hope that they don't have to go through another major overhaul.

if this team loses out then you can count on this place being an even more miserable place for players to come and you can count on cam and others not wanting to stick around.

players don't want to play for a losing team unless they are desperate and they are usually desperate for a reason.

sure....i know you get all these shiny toys in the draft but what guarantee is there that they will pan out and do you seriously want this team to have 4 or whatever rookie starters again?

meh...i've had enough losing.

let this team win. i don't care what it does to the draft. let these guys develop some pride.

Pretty much this.

I want to see wins. Drafting high does not guarantee success. And teams that are perennial winners rarely draft high and still win.

Get wins - get wins - get wins.

The one scenario I really want to avoid is continuing to look terrible (maybe even getting worse) but finishing with 3-4 wins and missing out on a top 2 pick that could net a huge amount in a trade because of a tie breaker or something. If we do continue to suck, let's suck JUST enough to get a top pick.

Ok but it also depends how we win and who we beat. If we play a Falcons team this year that are playing half ass after clinching the division a week prior like the Texans last year, thats not a true win. No beating the Chiefs and Raiders dont count. Those kind of wins are head fakes. Im talking REAL wins.. A win against the Bears at soilder field, THATS a win. A win against a Eagles team still fighting for a playoff spot and in contention? Thats a win. A win against a Manning led Broncos, thats a win.

I mean we beat last hear the Bucs, a Texans team half assing with TJ Yates, the Colts, the Jags and the Redskins with Beck at QB. Screw those paper thin wins. Im sorry, but if it comes down to either beating the crappy Chiefs or Raiders or landing a top 3 pick, im taking a top 3 pick all day long

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
    • very helpful.  I read back in this thread where they might try Jarvis at C--I thought he and Aho had good chemistry, however.  Nonetheless, he could expand his value there, and now we have a guy who can play jarvis' spot.  Freddie is a pro, no doubt--and as little as I know about the inner workings of strategy and positions, I could tell Burns was burning us at times.  I figured he'd retire and I was looking forward to it.  FWIW, they have Jarvis listed as a C on the 2025-26 roster.
