Steve Smith- "You're stuck with me"

Hate to be the Debbie Downer, but I gotta play Devil's Advocate here. Smitty said he plans on staying a Panther. Nothing in that quote says he will be, as it takes the other side deciding to keep him too. He may want to retire as a Panther, but the front office may have different plans for him.

I'm hoping the trade deadline passes and he's still here, but I'm not going to get my hopes up until after that happens. I honestly doubt we would trade him, but stranger things have happened.

I doubt a team would want an unhappy Smitty. Ask Lucas

I love how the Huddle makes up its own reality and decides that it is the reality.

Smitty may actually be perfectly happy, but here "He is already leaving this offseason" is a fact.

I appreciate all the pie for the things I say, everyone.

I wish the Panthers could clone him and put 53 Smitty's on the field on Sunday.

#89 is a champion.

There would be 3.5 MDPG (Murders or Deaths Per Game).

Smitty is a beast, loyal too.

If we get a new, legit deep threat and can move Smitty to the slot, it could rejuvenate him yet again and get him at least 3 more great seasons, at least 2 of which will result in Panther Superbowl victories.....I can dream, can't I?

Exactly. This is what should happen and I don't understand why it isn't except for a few reasons. One, possibly to do ith the amount Smitty is paid and two, will smitty allow it?, finally three perhaps it is because of the failure of the FO to draft another reciever worth a poo in the past decade. It's tough for a dominant figure like smitty to give something like that up, especially if he is planning on being with this team for the remainder of his carreerm but to me it is obviously the smartest move. A future #1 needs to be working with Cam ASAP and if it were up to me I'd move smitty to the slot and draft a real #1 prospect...not this LaFell/Jarrett/Keep clinging on to replace Mushin bullshit.

    • LaMelo to Brooklyn for Nic Claxton, Drake Powell, and a pick.  Who says no?
    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
