Would a win tomorrow make everything right?

3-6 is definitely not indicative of everything being alright.

At this point, I'm hoping Rivera either gets his poo together and shows he's the guy to lead this franchise or we continue to tank, he gets shown the door and the new GM has a nice shiny high draft pick in his pocket. Worst case scenario IMO is the in between. We have mixed success down the stretch leaving Rivera's status in doubt and we win just enough games to take us out of the running of the true blue chip prospects in the draft.

in the short term? absolutely. it means we beat two teams in a row and have made marked progress as a team on offense and defense. it represents a getting-off of the monkey on the back that's been such a black cloud over the team since the beginning of the year. it gives guys the confidence to believe they just shut down the redskins and beat the broncos with peyton manning and now they can go on a tear and rip the eagles a new one.

if we beat the bronocs everything will be fuging fantastic.

Too many wasted opportunities this year for me to say everything will be alright short of the team making the playoffs.

I will be very happy for the players, cause you know this year has sucked for them and turning it around and winning has got to feel good after so many disappointing losses.

However, wins at this point only reinforce my belief that the coaching staff's refusal to change their offensive scheme prior to game 6 doomed what could have been an outstanding season.

Absolutely NOT! A win would be nice - especially against Fox, but how can we accept 3-6 as worthy of "making everything right" unless our goal was to beat John Fox or win two in a row? Our goal WAS to be competitive enough to make the playoffs. Winning two in a row after losing 4 straight is improvement, but it doesn't make us competitive. Furthermore, having a 3-6 record doesn't give us an opportunity to make the playoffs either. Winning makes it better, but only a playoff appearance can "make everything right".

Besides, our tolerance for more coaching mistakes cannot be dismissed when those mistakes are the primary reason we have no chance at the playoffs this year.

Sadly, all Fox has done is proven the problem was with the Panthers, not him as a coach. He has his flaws, but he took a fuging The Golden Calf of Bristol QB'ed team to the playoffs last year, then won a playoff game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh with The Golden Calf of Bristol at QB. Looks like they're gonna make it back to back playoff seasons this year.

What have we done since getting rid of Fox? We're 8-16 in that time. He's 14-12 in that same time period, including 1-1 in the playoffs.
