...will idiots on ESPN shut up about it and stop with their incessantly face-value offerings on cam's play?

i vote yes for the former and no for the latter, because the average huddle poster makes less sense than skip bayless, but if you are neither a moron poster or skip bayless you should be excited about what this team did tonight. cam newton led his team down the field with the game on the line and took the lead in a situation when they've fallen short in the past, and then the defense responded accordingly.

we have a football team folks. get excited for the rest of the year, because it's an antecedent of what's to come.

Eagles gave up... But Cam regained some momentum in his development. He is well on his way, but I'm waiting to see him play this way in the big game. He obviously can.

Media guys arent going to get behind him until he comes back and wins the big game. Tonight wasnt the big game, but great to see Cam back on his game.

Glad to see he accomplished it, but you won't see anyone changing their mind until he does so consistently. Not agreeing, just pointing it out.

I'd like to see him overcome and fix the "turnovers = almost automatic loss" perception more myself.

Team still hasnt won a game that Cameron has turned the ball over in. But another 4th quarter comeback in the books is sweet! Hopefully we can start getting more blowout wins under our belts in the next season or so.

Getting ahead of yourself again...

I think we would all be happy with wins...

Chiefs up next Cam should roll them too.

KC actually can play D. They have no O.

As we saw against Philly, Carolina still puts Cam in situations where he has to play flawless to get a win. Watch the KC offense come alive forcing Cam again to have to play perfect to beat scrubs.

It's not so much he needs to be flawless as it is winning the turnover battle, when Cam makes mistakes they tend to come in bunches.

We need new coaches.

Id be even happier with blowouts. I understand we dont have the talent or coaching for that. One man alone cant blow out an NFL team. But itd be nice if we applied pressure more than we feel it.

    • yeah, now it's going to get awkward.  The team circles pay attention to all this stuff.  All the wives and girlfriends see the posts.  They all talk like everyone.  Football is just a normal world outside of the fact they play a game for lots of money.  Gossip travels. They know the Theilen's want out at this point.  Carolina is now the disappointed failed trade location.    So now AT takes sort of an inhouse hit in Carolina IMO
    • Ummm... The dude looked like he was about 180 pounds soaking wet with us (I don't care what his listed weight was/is) - he would have been destroyed in the run game even more than our current and past crappy ILBs. The problem is we primarily play 3-4 or nickel/dime - there is little room on the field for him because he isnt an edge LB blitzer and he can't cover for crap. The only thing he can do kind of well is be an in-the-box safety that can try and beat blockers to the spot because of his athleticism. Washington was able to make him work last year because they used him solely as an in-the-box safety and almost exclusively ran a single high FS. The funny thing is they had good yards/game stats against the pass despite most of their secondary having embarrassingly low PFF grades. Washington was also terrible against the run, which might explain why they gave up so few yards passing.
    • Just get the deal done. We've teased it so much that the Thielen's expect it. Now we run the risk of our veteran WR locker room presence becoming disgruntled. Just take what we can get, make him happy, and get future assets while freeing up snaps for guys who will be here beyond this season.
