Free Agents that might be of interest.

I would also consider Corey Williams, DT for Detroit. He is scheduled to be a free agent after this season and is not expected to be retained following the recent emergence of Nick Fairley and after he missed most of this season due to injuries. I think at worst he could provide good depth for us if healthy and at best he could be a decent starter.

"Bowe is a garbage time stat padder..he is a red zone weapon but not the guy to partner with Cam. He is like Marshall in size but isnt as mentally tough..and that is saying a lot! Marshall at least wants to kill the guy covering him every play."

Are you high?

2007: 70 rec 995 yds 14.2 avg 5 TD

2008: 86 rec 1022 yds 11.9 avg 7 TD

2009: 47 rec 589 yds 12.5 avg 4 TD (hurt- played in only 11 games)

2010: 72 rec 1162 yds 16.1 avg 15 TD

2011: 81 rec 1159 yds 14.3 avg 5 TD

This kind of production coming without a legit #2 WR and during his 5 years in KC, the starting QBs have been:

Trent Green, Brodie Croyle, Damon Huard, Tyler Thigpen, Matt Cassel, Tyler Palko, Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn.

"Garbage time stat-padder..." Really? Looks rather productive to me....

Yeah Bowe is a good NFL player and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to watch football.

The only thing that bugs me about him is he badically checked out on the Chiefs this year. He's probably gonna want Vincent Jackson money, too

First off, lock up Hardy. That's first and fuging formost. He brings an energy to this defense.

Secondly, resturcture some players like Dwill and Gross, free up some cap and keep the veteran around (i don't think you understand how valuable veteran leadership is on a young team trying to learn how to win an cutting/trading them wouldn't help.)

Third, get Byrd, we need a playmaker in the secondary.

Finally, both Jennings and Bowe are overrated. Jennings less so, talented and a great WR, but he's often injured an can't stay on the field, plus he's known for drops. He'll want some money too. Bowe is WAY overated though. Lazy as poo. He's Peppers as a WR. Great skillset but takes plays off, He's also gonna want BIG money. On top of that, they're both on the wrong side of 30. I'd rather take a nice young WR talent in the first two rounds to groom with Cam.

this. exactly this.

I guess when your losing your a its a majority of garbage time. He rarley starts to make the catches till late when the games are decided. Yes poor QBS but he is on the downward side of his career and will regress.

He quits on routes regularly.

With that said I wont complain if we take him. A Mike Wallace is a younger playmaker but the draft is exciting for WRs this season.

Strengths: From a physical standpoint, few defensive backs in the league can match up against Bowe, who turns 28 in September. Standing 6-foot-2, he can make plays in the air on balls that most other receivers can't, and is not afraid to go over the middle in traffic to help out his team. At 221 pounds, corners have trouble jamming Bowe at the line and preventing him from getting to his desired spot on the field. That strength also helps him after the catch, as he can be tough to bring down when he gets going. Bowe is also a terrific run blocker on the outside.

Weaknesses: Bowe is a very good receiver, but he is not in the Calvin Johnson/Larry Fitzgerald elite category for a couple of reasons. The primary one is his speed, or lack there of. Though nobody would call him slow, it is rare to see Bowe breaking away from corners. He's far from elusive, and is better going through defenders than running past them. The other issue is drops. According to STATS LLC, Bowe tied for second in the NFL with 12 dropped passes in 2011, a major problem on a couple of occasions for the Chiefs at the end of games. There also have been questions about his effort, but many of those were answered with a good year despite subpar QB play last season.

Risk factor: Moderate. Many around the league believed Bowe's Pro Bowl campaign in 2010 was an aberration, and that he would fall back to earth in '11. That didn't happen, except in TD catches. With some doubts about Bowe's work ethic still lingering, there could be concern that he will be satisfied after signing a long-term contract and not work hard at his craft. However, his production in recent seasons, there is plenty of reason to believe Bowe will continue to be one of the league's top receivers, whether it is in a Chiefs uniform or elsew

A lot depends on our draft position and the projected players available at our slot. All I know is we need to come out of the offseason with a WR, RG and hopefully someone to play the nose.

Other needs may arise depending on what we do to fix the cap.

Note that I didn't list safety. DJ Campbell looks to me like a starting SS. If Godfrey can play the free effectively, we may be good there.
