I always did love the WCO. Funny enough, the 99 team did more or less what this team does very well - get a lot of yards on 1st down and build off that. But, I grew to prefer the reasoning behind the Coryell stuff over the last few years (including seeing Harbaugh in '09,10). I like the deep ball and Coryell stuff tends to run more (and definitely disguises a lot).

Martz, and Cam Cameron. I think Cameron got the scapegoat end of the Ravens deal, though I more or less knew that Caldwell was crap anyway. Hue Jackson might be gettable if, say, Zimmer does go but Jay Gruden doesn't. I like Hue a lot.

I wouldn't be surprised if Turner is brought in as an assistant and they keep Rivera and Chud. Rivera said that it was a mistake to not bring in an assistant who has head coaching experience and Turner said he wanted to go somewhere where he has worked with the other coaches before. It would unite him with his son as well.

As for scheme, why would you change horses in the middle of the stream when we are built for the Coryell and frankly have run it very successfully. The worse thing we could do to Camis change systems and make him learn the WCO for example. It might not take him five years like Vick to learn it but it would surely take 1 or 2.

btw.......what coaches are at dallas that Norv has worked with?

I could find 4 coaches he worked with.

The big one is Rob Ryan who he worked with in Oakland in 2004 and 2005.

He also worked with strength and conditioning coach, Mike Woicik, in Dallas in the 90s. Woicik also worked in New England, the Saints, and back with Dallas.

He worked with Skip Peete in Washington.

He coached the special teams/kicker Chris Boniol coach when he was a kicker for him in Dallas.

Someone else might have more.

I'd honestly prefer a stretch run offense much like the Houston Texans run and the same offense that the Broncos ran while winning their two Super Bowls with John Elway.

With a mobile QB like Cam, who can sling the ball downfield, getting him out into space on bootlegs, runs, etc would make for a brutally awesome offense. Plus, we have a big pass-catching TE in Olsen who would see his numbers soar through the roof in that style of offense.

      We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.

      I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.

      Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
