College ball and draftniks...a little help please

Recommended Posts

I understand this isn't the right forum, but beg everyone's indulgence.

Can some of you that are hard core draftniks and follow college ball religiously please help us out with what players to watch in which bowl games?

Specifically, I'm sure many are interested in potential draft targets for the Panthers.

Your help is appreciated.

Today there's a few guys you should keep your eyes on.

Mississippi State's Johnthan Banks, Michigan's Taylor Lewan (going up against Clowney today so it will be a great judge of how he will match up against the JPP's and Charles Johnson's of the NFL), also Xavier Rhodes DB for Florida State, and a guy I wouldn't mind grabbing in the second round Stanford TE Zach Ertz....

I'd wait for a bit more than a rumor. Probably 50/50. We need ol/dl but he sure is a good fit fit us. High work ethic

I saw that. Very impressive performance by him along with the QB. Has Hopkins declared?

Conflicting reports. Nuk hadn't mentioned it prior to last night....but last night probably game him a bump.

Nuk should declare. Not as gifted as Sammy but might be the better WR.

Great year. 1400 yards, 18 TDs. Doubt he can go back and top that. Sammy likely to reemerge next year

A lot of us draft junkies have our eyes on the Michigan/SC game right now.

Lewan is a potential first round pick for us at LT and he's going up the best in the business in Jadaveon Clowney.

Swearinger is a solid safety prospect as well from SC.

Obviously Warmack, Milliner, and Jesse Williams from Bama.

But yeah, Hopkins made the case for a first round pick last night.

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
