Everybody calm down about the Coaching decision/search

According to former Packers VP, we are not at any disadvantage.

"...former Green Bay Packers vice president Andrew Brandt said the Panthers are not behind on the coaching-hire time line if they make a switch.

“In terms of taking their time, it’s hard for me to believe that waiting a few days is going to put anyone at a disadvantage,” said Brandt, now a sports business analyst for ESPN. “You don’t need a coach until sometime in the spring when you actually have players to coach. But I know everyone wants to jump in and go after the candidates they think are the best.”

This should be stickied.

That's not entirely true though

Draft time in April, at-least be in here by March to evaluate what we already have and what we need

While that is true the urgency is who is available. You don't need a coach but you do need to be looking for a coach while they're available.

It's not time to freak out right now but we also dont have until the draft to make the decision.

I agree with him in principle. We don't NEED a coach right this minute. However procrastinating on acquiring a GM could be a detriment to scouting draft picks and available free agents and restructuring our cap situation.

With that said I'm still not worried about any of the above. The Panthers will be steadfast in their approach and will hire the man(men) they see fit.

It's just painful for fans to sit idly by and wait for that proverbial shoe to drop.

    • It depends on what version of bad we are getting. Can't have the locker room tearing apart over it.
    • I think that depends more on how high our pick is. If we have the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick i think we are drafting a QB rather than shopping FA market for a QB1. Curious if we’d be reluctant to start a rookie QB week 1 though.
    • Hurney 2.0 and Fitts were so bad I don't know if it was intentional or they were that abysmally clueless. Fittershits panicked repeatedly being on the back end of positional runs while Hurney couldn't evaluate anyone outside of the 1st.  I can't figure out why Plummer still has a jersey. There's no reason. Dalton brings nothing to the table. If another QB gets cut that has given a glimmer of anything better than what we have, we should look, and that goes for every position.  I cant get over how much different this team could have been with a competent GM and having accepted the Rams offer for Burns. This franchise could have gone in a totally different direction.
