Fox getting bashed hard on Mike and Mike...

Played a clip of his explanation for being so

Conservative. He compared the broncos after the 70 yard bomb to a prize fighter that just got their ass kicked at the end of a round. Wanted to survive and make it to the next round thus playing conservative.

Greenberg and Golic both blasted him and called broncos mentally weak if thats the case. Said you have to play more aggressive with Peyton at qb, etc. Said fox has a rep as conservative coach and it burned Denver.

The thing that bothers me about the decision is they could have taken a knee on third down. If I recall correctly, Denver had 30+ seconds and 2 timeouts. So drop back and see what happens. Maybe even run a draw or a screen and see if you can pop off a big gain to get you in better position if you want to stay conservative.

If you don't make any progress in your first two snaps and it gets to third down, THEN you take the knee and go to overtime.

Like we're doing any better.

As dumb as this sounds: We lose wayy more entertainingly now.

I generally enjoy watching our offense if not love it at times. Under Fox looked like we never tried to dictate anything...that is a soul sucking experience.

The Jimmy Clausen season alone will have me in some sort of therapy.

I didnt really blame Rivera for doing this same thing at the end of first halves this season as Newton was not really showing he could actually be trusted in a situation where he has to force passes and make plays in a tight clock situation.

You actually see the desire from the team now to dictate tempo and impose their will..they just need the horses to let them execute this vision.

    • Hey if they could beat Seattle… tiebreaker head to head over GB, LARms, Seattle… win out the record is 11-6.  Now rap my knuckles for suggesting we win out, but that would be some funny poo. Talk about sneaking up on people.
    • I expected 6 wins this season. I need to see the Panthers blow by that now that they exceeded it by 1. I like how Canales has schemed around the weaknesses on offense in the passing game. I am impressed with the receivers, run blocking, running back combo and secondary communication in zone. Defense and QB need more consistency. The improvement of the defensive play calling and critical 3rd down and 4Q passing when trailing is going to be what I am looking for going into the playoffs. If the Panthers can consistently regain the lead after trailing over the next 4 games, I can see them competing in the playoffs and worth a reevaluation of the last 2 seasons' weaknesses. This is the prove it or lose it moment in their Panthers careers for Young and Evero. No excuses.
    • He's on the smaller size for a center (5'8" 175lbs) and he is a bit of a liability in the faceoff circle. But, he's a proven 60 pt player with room to grow. I'd still rather go get TT from Buffalo. Rossi would be a great consolation prize, though.
