San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree is under investigation for an alleged sexual assault, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

According to the report, Crabtree has cooperated with detectives from the San Francisco Police Department's Special Victims Unit. Crabtree has not been arrested and the team has confirmed that he accompanied the 49ers on their Friday flight to Atlanta in advance of Sunday afternoon's NFC Championship Game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Crabtree is expected to play on Sunday and has agreed to make himself available to authorities for further interviews as the investigation into the alleged assault continues.

49ers GM Trent Baalke released the following statement on Friday night:

"We are aware of the allegation against Michael and understand that he has fully cooperated with authorities. The 49ers take such matters very seriously. We will have no further comment at this time as the legal process is ongoing. Additional requests for comment should be directed to Michael’s attorney."

The alleged attack took place at an unnamed hotel in San Francisco in the early morning hours of Jan. 13, hours after the 49ers' 45-31 divisional playoffs win over the Green Bay Packers. Crabtree caught nine passes for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns in that win and has emerged as the No. 1 receiver the 49ers expected him to be when they selected Crabtree with the tenth overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft.

if fuging dumbass pete carrol hadn't tried to "ice the kicker" (which never works) we're talking about seattle being one game away from the super bowl right now and a battle between two of the best young teams in the league.

but no, we're being treated to matt ryan softballing pop flys to roddy white and julio jones to get pass interference and illegal contact penalties and tony gonzalez pushing off fifty times with no flags.

How bout Lynch fumbling when they were driving in ATL territory, that was 2 weeks in a row he did that poo and they had to fight back from being down because of him. Matt Ryan wont have time to throw those ducks down the field to White and Jones, Niners have a way better pass rush then the Hawks. ATL already knew Hawks werent gonna be able to apply a pass rush so they game planned to take advantage of it.

Again, when the whistle blew for that timeout, Bryant stopped his normal motion toward the ball and then re-started it to finish the kick.

The kick you saw was NOT the kick you would have seen if the whistle had not been blown.

Does that mean he would have made the kick if the whistle had not blown? No. But it also means there's no guarantee he would have missed it either. Because the kick you saw WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THAT KICK.

Do you really think Carroll is the problem in Seattle? They've improved a lot with him as head coach.
