Wilfork for Pepper's

Recommended Posts

Everyone knows Peppers wants to play for New England and NE wants Peppers. Wilfork wants to be paid. NE also drafted Ron Brace in case Wilfork hits the Free Agent Market after next season.

I am normally an opponent of making Fantasy Football trades but this one seems to be good for both squads. Though a nose tackle I am quite sure he would tranistion to a nice DT.

Let's trade Peppers for Wilfork and maybe a 4th or 5th rounder. This would solidify our D-Line and let Peppers go where he wants to go and let our current stable of DE fight it out. I think in the long run everyone will be happier.

We can sign him for much less the 17 mil a season and open up some cap space either for next season or someone of value that might get dropped after TC.

Just a thought, your opinion?

I think this is assuming a bit much. As stated before. The one way you can be sure you got a raw deal is to make one with Belicheat. They do not pay for players they steal them.

sorry...this subject (peppers getting traded or whatever) has been beat into the ground pretty bad and the wilfork thing has been talked about quite a bit even going back to when the possibility of peppers wanting to go to the pats was first known.

peppers isn't going anywhere. he is going to be here next year and it is pretty much just understood that he will. the coaches and players are all talking like he will be and most of the rumors have died down completely.

that said....

    • I still think another QB is brought in Day 3. Grier is camp body level at this point.
    • We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.
    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
