Patriots CB convicted of felony assault

PFT says he'll be out for a while due to his conviction and also probably suspended by the NFL.

I don't get how the NFL can suspend him for an incident that took place BEFORE he was even an NFL employee... that makes no sense to me.

probably because you are innocent until proven guilty [at least thats what they say]... and he will be convicted while an employee.

Some things just don't make sense to me, and that is one of them.

Another one is how did Von Miller particapate in a lawsuit against the NFL before he was even drafted??

He won't serve any time, he'll get out by paying his way out. It's all about the money.

He doesn't have much money, he's a 7th rounder. Plaxico, or Vick couldn't "pay" their way out of their jail-time and they had much more money than him.

Typically, you buy your way out of jail time PRIOR to the conviction. Maybe by getting charges dropped, reduced, etc. Once you're convicted of a particular crime, money isn't the biggest issue anymore.

And like someone else mentioned, he's a 7th rounder. I probably have more money in my 401k than he does in his bank account.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
