We won't know who is available until free agency starts and everyone makes their cuts or signs and franchises whoever they can. So any speculation right now is not going to be very accurate and will be subject to change.

But if I were looking for a guy it might be one of the following: Dwayne Bowe might be willing to accept less to play for a contender versus floundering around with KC. Hartline might be convinced that Miami is not the one. Breaston is an interesting guy who was just released by KC as well. Other guys like Amendola, Welker, Wallace or Jennings are going to draw significant interest and bucks elsewhere.

There are a number of lesser name guys like Devery Henderson, Dominick Hixon, Ramses Barden who might be worth looking out if they are there. Hixon and Barden are both Giants with previous ties to Gettleman.

I'd be shocked if Bowe comes at a reasonable price. Breaston sucks badly and I'd rather keep Murphy over him.

Hixon looks the most appealing on that list to me but signing him alone or a similar talent does not bring enough improvement short and long term wise to this team imo.

People say cut Gamble and D-Lo because it's the popular thing to say, but if we can get under the cap with them restructuring, then I say keep the both of them.

That is Hurney magic.....it isn't about just getting under the cap to operate.

It is about paying the right guys and not overpaying.

People don't say to cut Williams b/c it is popular...they say it b/c it makes no sense to spend what we are for runners on a Cam Newton lead team.

Because he sucks player. He will not take a block head on...refuses to...hurts the rest of our guys in run D. If you are going to play Sam, you have to be willing to sacrifice yourself on strongside runs, he won't which is why we were better when Phillips was starting.

my thinking is that it's a choice between a restructured beason or a restructured anderson, because there's no way we go into the future with either one of those guys at their existing deals. we can't afford to keep both, either.

beason > anderson. we find a way to keep beason here and let anderson go. also cutting anderson will cost less than cutting beason.

Phillips is not as good as Anderson in the overrall position. I take Anderson over Phillips, but I hope that we can keep them both as backups. Beason should be willing to restructure and with the possibility of reinjury to Beason and Davis, we need Anderson.

That 2mil is almost enough to allow you to upgrade either RG or S. Hell, you could probably get a good TE for that money. I'm thinking 2.5 mil should be right around the asking price this year.

If Beast redoes his deal and lowers his cap hit by close to 5mil, (Which I feel is only fair considering what he has made to not play.) that alone can bring in two upgrades.

Once we get back to even witht he cap, we should be able to upgrade enough through FA to allow us to draft how we want. Been a while since that was true.

The big question becomes. Can we actually get the guys we want in FA to come here for what we can pay? This is going to get interesting, at least it feels like it is headed that way.

if we were the only one in a lot of cap trouble it might be a problem, but the truth is that quite a few teams are in just as much trouble and are looking at limited cap space and will be able to do nothing more than sign players to affordable 1-2 year deals.

also quite a few players will be hitting the market because of those cap issues, and i mean quality players and if they want jobs, they'll have to resort to taking those affordable and short term contracts.

it's a buyers market this year which sucks for FA players because the buyers don't have much cap space to work with. as needy as teams are, the players are needier.

He takes up the 10th most cap space this year.....4.4 mill is too much for your 4th or 5th best LB in a 4-3.

He is overpaid and overpaying guys is why we have holes and no cap space. JA is an example of why we aren't a good team. So is Godfrey's deal. The RB's deals. Etc
