Mid life crisis/new career/take a chance

I have taken the plunge. Wish I had done it sooner but realize that things happen for a reason at the time they happen. I kept trying to find the good job in my well intended career field. Finally realized I had been trying to rearrange deck chairs on the Titanic.

Only posting this to encourage others to think outside the box. Before, I had a goal that I unconsciously suppressed. Now it is real and I feel as if I have a new life.

Not a bad time at all, especially if you don't dread the day

I have not slept well on Sun night (in years) until I decided to make this change. No one else where I worked sleeps on Sun night either. That's all I needed to know, but it is amazing what tolerate.

Looking forward to going to work is going to be so refreshing.

Trying to talk the wife into a change. She's been in her biz for almost 25 years now and is a COO with a pretty strong 6-figure salary. She hasn't been happy for over a year and she's exploring other opportunities, but I guess it's not to the point when she hangs it up.

Her current contract is up in August, so maybe she'll decide to not pursue a new deal and we'll move on. I'm not sure I should push her or let her decide for herself.

i would recommend that you let her decide for herself.

Make sure that she knows you support her no matter what her decision.

My wife was torn about 5 years ago when she was thinking about becoming a stay at home mom. She was a Treasurer for a Fortuen 500 company....with a strong six figure salary. She was burnt out from the rat race.

    • summary: "let's talk about your draft, what did you think about Freeling" Dan:   guys with a huge upside, can come in and compete to start.  High ceiling "he does what for your offense?" Dan:   it's hard to find left tackles, guys that big and athletic.  We have Icky coming off an injury, we signed Walker, I believe your offensive line can never be too strong.  If we're going to win the game, it's gotta be up front on both sides of the ball, so we make a point of emphasis on making both sides of the front as strong as possible. "how many mocks did you see Monro falling to you." Not many times, left tackles are gonna go a lot earlier than when we took him.  We want to add the best player, in free agency or the draft"  that's our philosophy, to get the best players possible. "Hunter and Brazzell." Dan:  we followed the board.  Lee we felt very highly of him , super strong.  Brazzel so flexible and loose, can open the verticle.  Will Lee we held in high regard. "you take a look at your receiver room, Coker, my goodness, your offensive rookie of the year in Tet.  Lost Rico, but there is Jonathan Brooks. " Brooks coming off two knee injuries, he worked his way back, looking great, fully healthy, will help in pass and run game.  Icky, not sure when he's coming back but we're excited about both "plan on extending Bryce" we'll keep talking, will keep internally.  We believe in him, has such a great grasp of Canales and offense, has improved every year. "he's clearly come back from the benching, the arrow is trending up, where does he feel" Bryce knows where we stand with him, when and if a deal gets done, he knows we feel great with him, we'll get something done at the right time. "if this a prove it situation?" everyone in the building has to prove it, has to earn it. Tmac was everything we wanted, his work ethic, he's so big and talented, but he puts the work in, and is a great teammate. "your level of expectation, the building's level of expectation for 2026 "our goal is to win the division every year, we know we have to earn it.  we have to put the work in every day, proving it on the practice field, and our  guys know that." "schedule" we haven't opened at home in 2 or 3 years.  We love prime time games, hope we get some "
    • this one is gold:     Bryce has a cult inside the Panthers fanbase that has truly developed some NPC hivemind. I'll never understand how he's captured the true essence of the casual fan like that.
