And the joke that is the Carolina Pantjers keeps on giving

I'll be honest with ya.

I am as down as everyone else, but it will be next season when we truly see if Gettleman is an empty suit or not.

Unless it happens later down the road he has only eliminated 1 bad contract.

Beason, Williams, Godfrey are still out there and need to be dealt with.

After considering it I am not surprised Gross and Beason haven't redone their deals. Beason sees he has to prove something to have any value on the open market, he is going to be playing in a position that in the past he didn't excel with, and will likely be cut next season. it makes $ sense for him to get his salary now and hope he can get paid again after he is cut.

Gross knows he is old and will likely never get another big pay day. He is getting his last or next to last cash now. Taking a pay cut doesn't make $ sense for him either.

When next March 12th (or whenever first day of new league year starts) hits we can see who is pulling the strings.

Cap friendly moves with Gross/Beason/Williams/Godfrey should happen before that day and be significant.

Basically Gettleman has to do the work of clearing out bad deals and starting over that Hurney refused to do in order to keep his job.

    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
    • Hoping someone tells us Bussi was in the starter's crease for the morning skate. Otherwise, place your 1st shot- 1st goal bets! Any closer to a deal that could land a 2C in Trocheck or Brayden Schenn? Or land a winger in Alex Tuch or reach for Jordan Kyrou?
