Kiper Final Mock(More and More people feeling that Star will fall to us)

I somewhat agree but my concern is with the heart condition. Yes, I know he was "cleared" but where there is smoke there is fire, when he was first diagnosed, it had to be for a reason. A Dr just doesnt say your heart is only 40% functional for no reason and out pf the blue. Combine that with the fact his stock has dropped faster in the last 24 hours than Lehman Brothers, yes I am somewhat concerned.

That's a bit of a misrepresentation of what they were thinking. One of his valves was operating at 40% efficiency, and the norm is 50-55%. It's already been cleared by doctors so one would have to assume it was just some outside factor that caused an abnormal test, not an indication of the permanent state of his heart.

People who have to get regular physical tests get scares like this all the time. It's happened to me, in the military. At a regular annual physical my blood pressure was really high. Got it rechecked a week later and it was fine, just something caused it to spike that day. Could easily be a similar situation with Star (like it was with Alexander last year).

You believe in Floyd? Even with all the backlash to the media hype machine that has pushed Floyd all the up int the top 5? One or more of these top DTs are gonna flop. I just hope if we do pick one its the right one.

If one flops I think it's Richardson. He's awful against the run, and for a guy who gets in the backfield as much as him he doesn't get to the QB an awful lot either. Floyd is a guy who's going to improve a lot imo. He never really had a constant position at Florida, so he didn't have that consistency in reps at a certain spot.....

Ever since his ascension to the first round, I've thought Floyd was gonna be a flop as a 1st round pick. I think he'll be a solid pro, maybe even very good as a 3-4 DE, but if a 4-3 team takes him in the top half of the 1st, he'll disappoint.

Star on the other hand, is the safest pick in this draft in my opinion. Safer than Joeckel, Warmack, or Fisher. If other teams get scared away by the "heart scare" and he falls to us, we should all send the doctor at the combine a thank you card.

Now this is honest objective and insightful. I can agree with everything you said. It's the DT or riot crowd I can't deal with. I like Star if he falls, the others not so much. I would still like a shot at a playmaker on offense but we can't fill all the holes at one time. It's gonna take a couple years. Here's to 5 allpros for us out of this draft!

I think Richardson has the most upside of any DT in this draft. Because of his motor and versatility. Put him with a D mind like Rivera or some of the best Defensive minds in the game and he will be crazy.

I don't see the bust factor in this kid. And I still think Star is a better fit for this team.

I'm not saying I think Richardson flops, he's just the one that I personally see being the biggest risk. Of course that's just my personal opinion and by no means gospel. I honestly think the first round DTS are pretty safe this Draft. I wouldn't mind Richardson, I just don't have him near 14 as far as prospects are ranked so if we took him there I would be disappointed. I've got Star at 3 so obviously I would be ecstatic with him....

I agree. I've never seen a draft fall so perfectly for our needs then this one. Deep in DT, Safety, CB and Oline. I wish there were 2 worthy QB this year because a lot of talent would drop into our laps.

I get what you are saying about Richardson's effort, it's there. He has a non stop motor and is a hell of an athlete, for me, production outweighs that. Richardson's production (or lack of) scares me.

75 tackles 10.5 FL and 4 sacks 3 FF and 3 PD for a DT is a lack of production ???

    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
