Post Draft Season Predictions

Recommended Posts

Sep. 8 vs. Seattle Seahawks, 1 p.m. (Record 0-1)

L - It's great the season opener is at Home, but against a playoff team and Russell "Clutch" Wilson will be a much improve playoff team. I expect this game to be close defensive struggle that has the Seahawks coming our on top in the end.. 24-14

Sep. 15 at Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m. (Record 1-1)

W - With the Bills pressured to start their 1st round draft pick, EJ will be feasted upon. This will be the first time we really get to test out the new Ferrari of a D-line we have. 2 picks and 3 sacks in a lop sidded victory.. 28-7

Sep. 22 vs. New York Giants, 1 p.m. (Record 1-2)

L - Back at home and we face Gettle's old team. Last time we faced them we were ripped to shreds on Monday night. This time the game will be much more competitive but with the same end result. Our secondary will not be able to do anything to stop Manning from picking us appart.. 27-21

BYE

Oct. 6 at Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 p.m. (Record 2-2)

W - After our bye and our New/Younger players get a better fell for the organization, the game will slow down and things will seem to click. We put a beating on Palmer with another hit from the Kraken that almost sends him home on a stretcher.. 24-13

Oct. 13 at Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m. (Record 3-2)

W - At this point the Vikings and AP are probably running well, but our D-line finally shows it's run stop ability and the LBs are filling in all the gaps. This game will be something the defense "takes a picture of" to remember when playing the rest of the season.. 20-7

Oct. 20 vs. St. Louis Rams, 1 p.m. (Record 4-2)

W - The Rams will resemble the greatest show on turf with their new WRs- But not today! Another bruising effort by our defense keeps the opponent pinned down while our offense keeps it's steady pace.. 27-13

Oct. 24 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 8:25 p.m. (Record 5-2)

W - Our first division game of the year- Revis vs Smitty! The result = Revis wins the battle but Panthers win the war. Lafell/Olsen go off for 80 yards and a TD apiece.. 20-17

Nov. 3 vs. Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m. (Record 6-2)

W - Riding high off a huge division win, we have no time to celebrate as the defending division champs roll into town. They remember the last time we played - [cue the clips of Kraken yelling "get the F*ck off our Field!!] This is another close NFCS game when it comes down to the end, Panthers on top.. 28-24

Nov. 10 at San Francisco 49ers, 4:05 p.m. (Record 6-3)

L - Traveling to the NFC Champs will be a tough task. A task I don't think the Panthers will be up for. I think this will be one of the only games where we lose by a large margin.. 32-13

Nov. 18 vs. New England Patriots, 8:40 p.m. (Record 6-4)

L - After we get taken behind the woodshed we come home to face the always-prepared Pats. Again I don't think we are ready and fall in back-to-back weeks for the first time.. 30-20

Nov. 24 at Miami Dolphins, 1 p.m. (Record 7-4)

W - After our two-game skid, we travel down to face off against the Dolphins who won't be so easy. I think the defense might be tired after the 2 previous games and make this game tougher than it needs to be but us winning by a slim margin.. 21-20

Dec. 1 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m. (Record 8-4)

W - Back home against the Bucs, we are in the home stretch and have to perform well to make the playoffs, which will be in sight at this point. The team as a whole gets things back on track and finds a way to hang 30 points on the good Bucs defense, this time Smitty winning the battle against Revis.. 30-17

Dec. 8 at New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m. (Record 8-5)

L - Sean Payton will probably have his team pumping on all cylinders by this point in the season and this will prove to be another slobber-knocker of a NFC South game. A shootout that Brees will likely end up winning.. 28-23

Dec. 15 vs. New York Jets, 4:05 p.m. (Record 9-5)

W - Back at home, the Panthers feast upon a Jets team that will probably be starting Geno Smith by now. This game won't seem fair with our defensive line getting pressure all day.. 27-10

Dec. 22 vs. New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m. (Record 10-5)

W - A quick turn around and we are back against those damn Aints. Our defense finally steps up and holds them to right around 300 yards with 2 turnovers. This game will put us in position to win the NFCS crown next week.. 24-17

Dec. 29 at Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m. (Record 10-6)

L - With the NFCS on the line and a home field game at stake, the Panthers lay an egg and limp into the playoffs.. 28-13

-------------------

Atlanta 11-5

Panthers 10-6

New Orleans 9-7

Tampa Bay 6-10

i think we'll go 4-2 in division (sweep bucs, split w/ ATL and NOS)

2-2 against NFCW (beat rams and cards)

2-2 against AFCE (beat 2 of bills, jets, and dophins tho i can see us beating all three)

lose to giants, beat the vikes.

9-7 record

Bills will be starting a 3rd round rookie QB that was taken in the 1st..

Jets will be doing the same as Bills - and the book will be out on them that late in the season..

Dolphins might be the only one of those three to compete, especially after we just played the 9ers and Pats

i fully expect a "how the crap did we just lose to ________?" moment or two this year just like with the chiefs. i think those moments come from the AFCE this year. being that it's not a division or even conference game makes them easy to slip through the cracks as far as preparation and effort.

We might win more than we lose, but its hard for me to see us making the playoffs. Are we better than last year? Overall, yes. Will the coaches learn from their mistakes last season? That is the question. We will need to win 11 games to be sure of a playoff spot. I just don't see it. In a division with 3 other teams who arguably did more to improve that we have thus far, I think expecting a playoff push is a bit unrealistic.

8-8 no playoffs. We will lose at least two games the op has us winning: Buff, AZ, Minn, TB, Miami, and NYJ. The idea that we will be able to win all 6 of these games seems like a slight bit of homerism.

We have not improved enough and I still don't think RR is the guy that's going to take us to the Superbowl.

Hardy and CJ have one of the best seasons of defensive end duos in history. Kuechly shatters tackling records. Star and KK are monsters. The secondary is better than average.

Cam and Co finally put a full season together and the Panthers have a top 5 offense to compliment a top 10 defense.

Rivera plays to win because his a$$ is on the line.

Panthers go undefeated, 16-0.

Adam Schein sneezes, burps and farts at the same time, and spontaneously combusts.

Boo-yah.

don't wake me up

I'd love to say we will get into the play offs and finish with a decent winning record like 10-6 or better, but I think this year we may end up in the region of 8-8 or 9-7.

    • Ummm not sure adding anther 5'9 180 pound soaking wet forward is the way to go here.....
    • What has happened in HS athletics busted full force into the college world with this NIL/transfer portal stuff. HS sports has been jacked up for a long time now. You have all these "prep schools" that are basically just diploma mills for athletes who hoover up all the good athletes they can get and they're all on scholarship. Then they go out and recruit decent athletes with rich parents to come onboard and pay outrageous tuition while they tout their success at getting their athletes college scholarships. Yeah, those athletes getting college scholarships are the same ones you're giving scholarships to so that you can use them to recruit the rich kids whose parents can pay for it all. You see the same thing in youth travel ball leagues. The whole thing is just getting crazy.
    • It's your right to refer to it as vague, but it still flouts the theory of "zero evidence" that Tepper is changing. Here's another: "Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales and general manager Dan Morgan are reportedly being given a larger leadership role within the organization. Panthers owner David Tepper 'has taken a more hands-off approach of late,' according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. 'He's trying to trust Canales and GM Dan Morgan to get it right, knowing that the roster requires patience in its current state,' Fowler wrote. 'We shall see if he holds to that.'" https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10146782-report-panthers-david-tepper-has-taken-a-more-hands-off-approach-to-team   ""David Tepper just wants to win and he's gonna supply everything that we need to win.. Things are changing around here and things are looking really positive" ~ Dan Morgan  https://x.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/1917639137550627107?t=6vgo8yXTO6eD0Gb55hyzNg&s=19   From about 2:15-6:35, Julian Council, Locked on Panthers, gives his take on whether Tepper seems to be changing (and specifically referenced the war room in his analysis):    Dean Jones of Cat Crave on David Tepper in the war room. "He was an innocent bystander throughout a hugely important decision, placing full trust in Morgan and Tilis to make the right call." Jones also quoted Pat McAfee: "What I noticed though, at one point, they looked at (David) Tepper to get an answer, Tepper didn’t say sh*t. All anybody has said about Tepper is that he’s hands-on, hands-on, hands-on. Too handsy, too involved. He’s not letting the football people do their thing. We just watched in the biggest moment for their franchise, a top ten pick, he just sat there and let everybody do their jobs. I think if you’re a Panthers fan, you love everything you saw there." https://catcrave.com/silence-from-david-tepper-becomes-panthers-loudest-victory Granted, you're not getting a major headline here, but that's not going to happen anyway. Fowler isn't exactly a nobody, everybody knows McAfee, and you also have some locals that follow the team (including Dean Jones). Of course you have a right to believe that Tepper hasn't really changed, but to say there is no evidence that he just may be changing is not really true. It's just not. Hate the guy, but the way that he has handled this current regime is different than he handled previous teams, and his silence in the war room and publicly in general is different than years back.
