CFL's number 1 pick?!? Super Bowl.

you remember that runningback we picked up a few years back who was the #1 pick in the CFL?

can't remember his name. i think some team up there even traded their whole draft for the #1 spot or something. not sure he even made it through training camp.

Jamall Lee? He made it to end of pre-season and he even got a TD in the last game.

His CFL career didn't last very long, either. He retired last year.

I expect McGloin to be signed as well.

I wonder what the #1 overall pick in the CFL would get contract wise? Not sure I would give that up without a decent chance of making the team.

Also, Brendon Ayanbedejo approves of these signings.

Not much money to be made in the CFL. Unless your a quarterback, most guys work in the off season. I believe Casey Printers was given a contract of 3 years at 500,000 a season and at the time that was a huge deal. If this kid doesnt make the panthers, he can come back up and rejoin the team that drafted him.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
