You think we are bad? Colts fans right now are calling 11 wins on an article about Indy takin a step back.

We are somewhat......reasonable with our optimism. Haha! We really are. We aren't screaming playoffs, we understand the stiff competition.

Situation dire: Secondary, ST (until they finally prove otherwise)

Situation not good at all: Right side of O line, kicking team, WR's not named Smith

DT is still a concern till the rookies make a difference, which doesn't usually happen.

We'll see..  Like the majority of things I post about.  They are accurate.

Too many of you guys look at individuals instead of the whole team.

For instance...  Our receivers suck yet we had nearly 4000 yds passing.  Our numbers were evenly distributed as any team in the league as far as WR yards compared to total QB yardage.

Secondary Sucks yet we finished top 10 defensively and above average 13th out of 32 against the pass.

Offensive line sucks... 12 overall in Offense and 9th in the league in Rushing and probably would have been much higher had we started out the season with a NFL Offense instead of a gimmick read option Bull poo that Chudz had us running.

And any of you that  think the we didn't make some serious improvements on the Defensive line just are plain ignorant.

Whether Hangartner played Center or Guard he still had an inexperience guard/center next to him the he was having to compensate for.  But he sucked.  That is why we retained him cause he sucked so bad.  Right?

Call them Panther glasses all you want but my opinion will more spot on then the negative B.S that you bandwagon bashers.

That's right. Bandwagon bashers.  Half of you have no opinion only jump on the bandwagon of a long time poster..  oooohhh maybe they'll throw you some PIE if you agree with... WTF ever.

I don't really give a crap whether you like what I had to say or not...    Like I said... When all is said and done...  Barring major injury my opinion will hit closer to the mark then those that disagree.

I appreciate the optimism, I really do. It's hard not to be optimistic when you evaluate our potential. One major factor you discussed is coaching. I'm not convinced Rivera can make game day decisions and Shula has a lot to prove plus we have a handful of unproven new position coaches as well. Our schedule is the hardest in the league based on 2012 win percentage. We are facing some really well coached teams. We have to stay healthy and we have to have great game day coaching. I think our ceiling is 9 wins in 2013 but still think we are staring at 6 to 8 wins.

I give Rivera benefit of the doubt.....Since he started coaching  panthers, we have improved every year it may not be significant in W-L  but in other areas we have improved drastically ......We are in position to have great year... the DL has been addressed, return of Beason, and competition in secondary.  In the offense we bring back key injured players addressed the O-line, brought in WR for competition, going back to more of traditional offense that we where more successful in & plays to the strength of the team. His game mangagement was not the greatest last season but that was a learning experience for both the coaches and the players ,  i'm pretty sure they want make the same mistake twice knowings whats at stake for them.

Far as schedule strength I love it  (coming from the SEC)........ every game is a grind and the competition brings the best out of you. You gotta beat the best to be the best.

You don't finish with a top 10 defense, top 12 offense (where the  QB had slump and no real running game) without some good coaching.

As a fan of the team i rather set the goals high than low.

10-6 (minimum)

I know it's a cliche saying but I stopped after the line about the OL being as good as any in the league. I don't know how that could be true.

Fans are so manic when it comes to the outlook of the team. The swings in mood are huge.

Read the SI review on us for this season.....they also stated that when healthy we have one of the best OL's in the league.

We also simplified the play calling, which should automatically bring better game management.

I'll be honest and say I stopped reading when you tried to pass of Hangartner as even a viable player.

For as atrocious as he was last season, he was worse the year before. This team can seriously claim it's trying to make a run this year and leave him as the starter.

The secondary is in shambles and the WR corp is paper thin. We still have a little bit of work to do this offseason if we wanna make a run.

All the wishing and hoping and homerness in the world isn't going to fix that drayton florence is our top corner on the depth chart.

Hard to argue with this guy when you look at last year's prediction....

Incredible. I gotta say the Cap Cam and Incredible Beason are my 2 favorites.

Cool write up. I did a take on the Panthers season and came away 13-3 too.

This year all those close losses are going to be close wins.

Go Panthers

    • I'm super excited about the guys we're getting back, and fortunately this year, outside of Robert Hunt, we haven't had any season-threatening injuries. Rico has earned the start, but I am excited to have both available.  The team is finally turning into the run-first team Canales said he wanted to be. As for JT Sanders, I think he has lost the most be being out. He is probably our best receiving TE, but with the emergence of Mitchell Evans & with him and Tommy Tremble both absolutely balling in run blocking, it will be hard to fix something that isn't broken. I'm hoping Turk Wharton can help with our pass rush. We really havent gotten to see him much due to injuries, but we desperately need anyone to provide some pass rush juice, which is what he was brought to do. I'm the most excited about Jalen Coker returning. Theilen may have been the most clutch last year, but I've watched a lot of film, and Coker was the most consistent WR we had when he was out there last year.  I think he can be an ideal #2 to Tmac. While Coker doesn't have the raw athleticism XL does, his route running, savvy, and overall football IQ simply make him better.  I think with the fact Coker can play both outside and in the slot will give our pass game more versatility.  We have been running a lot of 2 TE sets, and I think Tmac & Coker should be the primary WRs for 12 personnel. The other WRs (XL, Tremayne, Renfrow, & Horn) all have roles, but I dont think any of them can fully replace what Coker can do. I do think Renfrow will be inactive this week if everyone is healthy bc of how valuable Tremayne is for ST and as a run blocker. So happy that we are playing meaningful football heading into November. We are still almost certainly a year away, but we are absolutely moving in the right direction
