need honeymoon ideas

Cary Kollins

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married next June and just starting to look at honeymoon destinations.  I'm thinking we are going for the more "relaxing on the beach" vibe as opposed to an all-out adventure style honeymoon.  Probably looking to spend around $3k.

I'm kind of overwhelmed by all the options and am looking for any advice from those with experience.

Some places I want to look into are Negril, Bermuda, Dominican.  I definitely want to avoid Mexico.  I'm a little paranoid about getting in the middle of a cartel shootout.

The coastal towns of Mexico (Cancun, Cozumel) are still very safe. At least I hope they are because I am going there in a couple months.

Cozumel is great for scuba diving. But I would not go if I did not dive. Beaches are iffy...most are rocky as the reef is do close to the shore.

I've been 3 times and love Mexico. I agree that the beaches aren't that great but I just like to go to the resort and lay by the pool and drink the day away.

The trip me and my GF are going on (Playa del Carmen) was only $600 a person for 5 nights and that is all inclusive with nonstop airfare out of Charlotte. It's hard to find the flight alone for that price. Mexico is just so d*mn cheap and they treat you like gold down there.

I usually go to Cozumel once a year with a few buddies...week long dive vacation without the wives.

Stay at Fiesta Americana and dive 15-20 times during the week.

Morning dives....twilight dives....night dives.

Nothing better than diving in the pitch black ocean at night with nothing but a flashlight.....intense

    • Doubling tripling and quadrupling down on this subject in defense of the pick is reminiscent of a certain mindset that has overtaken the political world. This conversation will become less contentious and dragged out to the point of becoming a dead beaten horse if rational minds can simply agree that we made a mistake missed on a potential franchise center and we will learn from it. All this coping is unnecessary.
    • Here in lies the rub that the supporting posters continue to ignore. He wasn’t a 2nd round pick in the 2025 class, especially with an ACL tear. It was a dumb pick for any GM who looks ahead to determine values. C and CB were much better values than an injured RB in 2024. If a RB isn’t even playing much in 2024, you have to compare him to 2025. We’re beating a dead horse but only because the defense of the pick is almost comical at this point. We’ve made a ton of poo picks and moves/non trades while Morgan was GM and the assistant GM. It happens, we don’t have to jump through hoops to act like we just had some really bad luck. The 2025 draft class is unknown so far but damn it felt way better afterwards for the first time in a long time. Embrace the potential and stop stamping guaranteed on the box of poo of the 2018-2024 drafts. We are were we aware because of them and 2025 has to hit so we can get past the 7 win max in 7 year hurdle. Also, “flashed his talent” isn’t 9 carries for 22 yards. His one reception for 18 yards isn’t a flash with 11 other touches for 27 yards. He hasn’t proven anything. We have no idea if he’ll contribute in 2026.
    • Oh for those tired of the Mannings I have bad news, Peytons son Marshal already has college teams after him and he isn't even in HS until this fall...   I'd wager we have two Mannings in the NFL in 2030
