My way too early roster and cut projections *updated 8/23/13, big changes

Everyone thought that about Kendric Burney last year as well.  Lester has a lot of limitations.  I know people are excited about him right now, but there is a very slim chance he makes this team.  Lester and DJ Campbell both will not make this team.. only one of them will, and I believe it will be Campbell.

They both will make the team. Lester was a highly sought after UDFA. He won't last a hour on PS. Bet on it.

1. Naka is gone the numbers just don't work for him.

2. Dockery isn't going to make it. Moore can play FS as well so he has more value.

3. I see 9 Dlinemen and 9 Olinemen making the team.

4. I think Hartsog, B-will and Brockle make the team.

5. We are only keeping 6 WR

1. I hope you're right.

2. I dunno, Dockery looked pretty solid for such an unexperienced guy last year.  With more experienced he could be a solid starter.  And Moore would make a tiny FS...isn't he like 5'9?

3. Yea, I could see that too.

4. I don't see the need for 3 TEs and 2 FBs.  I'm thinking either Hartsock or Brockel don't make the team.  Either they'll value Hartsock's blocking more or Brockel's versatility at FB and TE, but I don't think they'll keep both.  It's a 50/50 to me which goes.

5. Quite possible, but I think it'd be wiser to keep 7.  Lotta young guys we need to figure out if they're going to be a long term part of the plan.

I think with Gettleman here, the philosophy may change to improve our depth. I like Colin Jones, but can he play safety if needed. One difference between us and better teams is that their ST players can step in and play if needed. Too often in the past, we had OK ST'ers who stunk when needed due to injury. If Lester can be above average at ST, I think he makes it. Same for Dockery ( who played well when asked last year), and B Williams. Armanti could easily be EMERGENCY QB if he makes it as WR and save a roster spot.

I see no reason why we keep Adams and Edwards.  With Barner and Ginn we have all the possible KR/PR we need.

Pilares or even Bersin.

Think we keep on 6 LBers too.

Cole is a great runstopper or that was his forte before he got hurt.  I don't see us letting him go for Kearse.  With the extra spot (dropping a LBer) we could keep Kearse.

Why wouldn't Gaydosh be able to go to the practice squad?  He's a rookie.  He may not want to and choose to go to CFL but that would be crazy.  From what I understand.  Practice squad players make more than CFL players but then again he was #1 Pick.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
