So Armanti has earned a roster spot..

Recommended Posts

While the proclamation is premature, there's no joke to Armanti's improvement. His routes are clean with a minimum of indecision; that TD catch he had in the endzone came about because he flat out beat Captain from the first step and didn't let the contact affect his concentration on the ball.

Why are the people on this forum always negative?

Why can't it be possible he's finally put it together.

Hey man, I wish Armanti the best and hope like hell he's the next coming of Steve Smith.  Just saying the secondary might make receivers look better than they are...

If Armanti has shown improvement, that just goes to show how bad the secondary is.

I was actually quite impressed with our secondary play today. Mike Mitchell is running away with the SS spot, and Florence seems to have locked down the corner role opposite Captain. His veteran experience showed through on the INT he got off Cam where he didn't bite on Smith's double move, and Smitty's endzone catch was very well defended, Smitty just was Smitty.

I hope he turns into a legit Wideout but EVERY single offseason he's been hyped up during camp but then disappears. Remember that big preseason game he had and everyone was convinced he had finally turned the corner? Until he does it in the regular season I'm not going to get excited.

If Hixion can't get healthy and Ginn keeps having drop issues, Edwards will not only have a roster spot and playing time but he would be the slot receiver for the team.  Good for him, but any of that to happen he has to keep it up and show up in the preseason games.

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
