Rivera says we are done signing linemen.

Here's an idea to keep yourself from getting all worked up about posts you think are baseless. Put the posters on your ignore list.

Please include me on your lengthy list.

I don't have anyone on ignore.  Why do that unless you have so little restraint that just seeing a post  gets you upset.  Nothing is that important here to get upset or angry.  Don't project your feelings on me.

Keep convincing yourself...

You're the one who reacted to mine and several other posts in this thread... remember?

I called BS and it was.  No anger or upset on my end..  On yours though, apparently plenty or you would give it up.  If you don't it just proves my point.....

But I won't go on and on, really nothing you have said is that important really and it is time for a sumptuous lunch.  Later....

I think the starting line right now can be respectable with Gross, Wharton, Kalil, Williams, and Bell.  Obviously Bell is going to be a liability, but he's not the worst person to ever play RT regardless of what some people think.

I personally think Garry Williams has outplayed Silatolu in preseason which is disappointing since I thought Silatolu looked good down the stretch last year and was hoping for a good year from him.

I still wonder if they would consider putting Wharton at tackle, but coming off his injury and with age, I don't know if he could do any better than Bell

The issue still remains that there is zero quality depth and there is no way the Panthers aren't going to try to add O-Lineman come cut time.

The Panthers starting Oline ever as is will not be the worst in the league.  I just wonder is Mike Shula will be inventive enough to scheme to hide some of the deficiencies.

Wanting to be a power running team sounds great, but I don't know if that is feasible with this line, or even what is the best usage of Cam's skill set.

I don't want Cam to get hit all the time, but I also don't a redux of Jeff Davidson either

I'm re-watching the Ravens game right now and Gary Williams does not look that bad. He's staying on his blocks...Bell and Amini are having trouble.

I believe PFF backs this up too with the exception of when he whiffed at LG. Garry doesn't worry me, Amini and Bell totally do. Hell even Chris Scott has yet to worry me. Neither one of these guys are getting credit because almost no one rematches the line nor do they notice the line until they make a mistake. I would really be interested in seeing Gross / Wharton / Kalil / Scott / Williams

I know I'm late but I want to play too.

Amini was having a bad preseason. There is no way around that. Wharton will solidify that left side. Williams was having a decent preseason. Better than most folks are saying. Bell can handle most, but has trouble with speed guys. You can help him with chips and RBs, so that does not concern me.

IMO, we aren't as bad as most folks make it out to be. Especially with Wharton back. It ain't the best line around, but it is better than most are predicting.

As for the Gettlemne debate. I am quite sure Accorsi and JR talked to him before the hire. Gettlemen knew Rivera was going to be the Coach. If he wasn't going to do everything in his power to make Rivera a success, why did he take the job?

Gettlemen is all in. He has to be. He would lose all credibility if he weren't. I mean, really. Why would he take the job if he was going to half-azz it? Who would trust him? What Coach would come here if he couldn't trust him? No one would want to deal with him if he was thought of as a GM who half-azzed it?

If we continue the success from the end of last year and make the playoffs. Rivera is going to be our Coach next year. And I can live with that. I sure hope the Rivera haterz, and Gettlemen, can live with it.

    • That does sound familiar. Those fans are deep. In snow lol. you don’t want to be up there in January.   I would think they have probably seen it all. Except what…  the championship? Gotta feel for them.
    • I thought he was from watching him play and also doing his first HC job. I thought he was the real deal  Apparently what happened is Kraft committed to Mayo and I don’t remember the timeline exactly - but Vrabel was unemployed at the same time Belichick was unemployed. They both were fired (or out) after the 2023 season.  Kraft hired Mayo. Who was kind of an obvious disaster. He probably already had the deal in place but I will give Kraft credit for not sleeping. With Vrabel out there for 2025 he made the move he needed to make and if it hurt Mayo’s feelings then oh well.  I guess you can tell I am not fond of Kraft but that was a really savvy move. At his age, pretty good. Still has it.
    • It’s going to feel like a home game for the bills. There are so many of their fans that live down here now, and many of them have never seen Allen play in person since their last visit was 8 years ago. It didn’t matter for the cowboys game, but it might here. I think we likely lose a close one. Probably a questionable flag or two that doesn’t go our way. X factor for Buffalo will be Kincaid and Knox. If we do win it’s because we get ahead and play keep away from Allen. FYI- I have many friends who are Bills fans that are fed up with Beane who we all revere and think is the one that got away. They feel like he was great to land Josh but has done a terrible job of building around him (especially at WR) and rely on him to become super man to win- sounds kind of familiar, like the last time we had a franchise QB.
