Kuechly on The Drive at 5:15

Lol the guy asked Luke if he wished he had done more in college besides "getting a bunch of tackles".

Yeah all he did was lead the NCAA in tackles as a sophomore and junior, and was second in the nation in tackles as a true freshman. Along with the 2011 Butkus award as well as other accolades.

How those guys have a radio show, a prime slot no less, is mind boggling.

There was nothing "repulsive" about the way this interview went.  It wasn't pure fluff, and wasn't prefect (maybe a few questionable questions), but they actually asked some good questions: about his development, his election as a Captain, how the team is gelling, what it will take to win Sunday and beyond, and even a few good questions about how he is acclimating to Charlotte (he seems to like it) and what he does to relax in his free time.  I enjoyed it myself.

I can't listen to the show at all the entire show is REPULSIVE. I listened in before Kuechly was on the radio and all I heard was that obnoxious black guy they have on everyday playing the "ghetto" character.

Same reason Skip Bayless and Colin Cowherd have jobs. They bring in ratings when dumb ppl like to listen and yell at their radio thinkin that these "shock jockies" believe one single word that is spewing out of their own mouth

qcb and his dumb unfunny gimmick is played the fug out.  man i'm telling you listening to "panthers and tar heels are garbage and their fans suck and the cowboys are going to the super bowl and my gamecocks are going to win a title" for the 500th consecutive day sure was shocking and offensive!

When I turned in, they were talking about how much the Dolphins are due for a winner.

WFNZ--- I REFUSE to turn on my radio after 3 PM.  On my way home from work, I put on my headset and listen to Hall and Oats (just kidding--a cheap shot at SCP).  I would prefer the fleas from a thousand camels infest my groin region than to listen to one idiot put pre-rehearsed questions on the tee for the other to answer.   I would rather hammer toothpicks under my fingernails in a shower of battery acid than listen to those cocky, self-absorbed morons share their personal rankings of where they think Cam Newton is ranked among NFL QBs.  The only knowledge either has about playing QB is the familiarity they have fondling the nut sack of a grown man bending over from behind.  Put former players on the air--Frank Garcia is better than your professionals.  If not, I will resort to turning off your radio station in favor of being stuck in traffic at the corner of Sharon Amity and Independence for 6 light changes while homeless guys wave cardboard resumes at my vehicle in hopes of launching that career.  There is only one good thing that ever sprang from that God-forsaken babbling idiocy you call a show-- I met Becky, the wonderful receptionist at the suicide hotline.  Damn, WFNZ.  Do you think we are stupid?

Recap for those who just can't bring themselves to tune out the air "personalities" and focus on the guest:

Honored to be elected by his teammates as a Captain.

Defense figuring out subtleties of the schemes. New additions will help them get stronger.

Cam continuing to get better all around.

It isn't about individual stats, it's about the team winning and getting to the playoffs.

Key to winning Sunday is keeping Wilson in the pocket and stopping the run (Lynch).

No added pressure to win due to RR being on hot seat.  Goal is to get wins...period.

Things "clicking" for him last year was result of asking tons of questions of the vets, and not just guys on defense, guys like Smith too.  He's done that since college.

Defense is loaded with "Captains."

Likes fly fishing during free time.

Likes Charlotte, mentioned South Park, the Lake, Ballentyne, likes that CLT near the beach and mountains just a few hours away, nice weather too.

Thinks playoffs are reachable because they are coming together as a team.

Off the field he may be mild mannered, but on the field, he says occasionally he lets the expletives fly.  Apparently Smitty poking some fun with that.

Again, key to beating Seattle is stopping the run.

Yes. All these young QB's (except for Luck) you stop their run game, you can beat them.

I personally like Skip. If you don't take everything he says so literal you will find the entertainment value. A lot of what they say is purely for show which is fine, plus he picked us as a close second to the Falcons and getting a wild card spot. But it's all good.

    • Well, the whole rationale used  for the high IQ point guard is it would allow us to spend our resources elsewhere….instead it’s all our first rounders ever since to support the bad pick.  Reality is our front office is just bad.  If you wanted Bryce Young you were going to need to do something unique and special for him.  Instead we just insert a QB with traditional tools into old NFL concepts that pair with traditional talent and our pass game is whack
    • Good to see some other folks are speaking the same language on this. It's simple common sense. But it seems like there's a disconnect due to the misplaced value the team has put on Thielen because he was the only vaguely good veteran WR willing to sign with the Panthers after we traded away DJ Moore. That time has come and gone. We have two first round WR's on the roster now.
    • Yeah I’m turning this into a Bryce can’t play QB thread. Just stating that offense was a poo show two years ago. No QB is succeeding in that, much less a rookie. I feel like it’s become a common debate strategy on here to just jump down the rabbit hole of saying he is just bad in so many ways when any certain point gets countered. If that doesn’t work we can deflect to how poorly this team has been ran. In regards to the actual point we are debating, the OL was struggling, half of the skill players aren’t on a roster, Mingo has done nothing with his new team and the staff are either not coaching or on their 3rd team in 3 years, aside from McCown (I liked McCown too). Honestly about as bad as it gets. No need to try to state how good of an offense it was billed it because that has been proven false at this point.
