This looked really familiar. I have been stressing for months that Shula's biggest issue as an OC was in game adjustments. Once the defense adjusts to what the offense is doing, it's difficult to score. It's just not his strong point.

Lets all hope this is just a one game letdown, because if its an indicator of what's to come its going to be a long season.

Rivera just said in the press conference they need to look and see what they did to stop our offense.

That idea is about 20 minutes of football too late.

I cannot believe we allowed the most prolific QB through his first two seasons in NFL history to be nothing more a handoff service.

What adjustment? Our offense was hardly on the field, and when they were they moved effectively but had critical mistakes by players we depend on.

What did he do wrong? Were we watching the same game? Our playmakers were not making plays. We scored in the second quarter so to me, he countered what the D was doing in the first Q to score. Also, had DWill not fumbled, we saw nice plays that completely opened up their D.

I thought Shula did an okay job. There's certainly room for improvement. Hopefully he'll learn from his mistakes and will get better.

But Shula was certainly not the reason we lost today.

If not for Seattle penalties, they would have been stopped on the 50 on that drive.

I didn't have a problem with Shula. Yea he could improve, but his play calling was a lot better than Chud's.

Same old third down woes.  It's really becoming comical.  We have a 3rd down, might as well go take a leak or grab a drink.

What did he do wrong?  Did people expect us to explode on Seattle's elite defense or something?

 

He called a good game.  Seattle just played good defense.  Not much he can do.  And we were driving on Seattle down the stretch.  Not his fault Williams fumbled.

 

Do not evaluate Shula off one game vs. a top 3 defense in the NFL.  Because this is the same defense that shut down Rodgers and Brady led offenses last year who are both more talented than what Carolina has on offense.

 

It looks like a situation of you just wanting to be right about your pre-conceived notion. Maybe Shula is bad.  I didn't see what you saw today.  But do not judge him off 1 game vs. a terrific defense.
