I'll keep this short and will elaborate after work, but they're 3 point favs and if it wasn't for Russell Wilson pulling off a circus act, they win that game. Seattle is MUCH better than NE ,talent wise. They have a coach whose seat is an oven and I'm sure in his mind this is a must win,and I see them bringing everything they got. So I don't know why everyone is expecting us to beat em up? Kind of curious as to why they feel that way..

Edit: Just to add my 2 cents. Its scares me what the did to Lynch and the Seattle running attack. Especially with Spiller looking off last week. They finished last year 5-1 I believe,if we cannot get the running game going it could get ugly for us on offense. They are also facing a lot of criticism for their offensive play calling ,maybe they go into their bag,so we might see a lot of gadget plays, designed Newton runs and way more deep balls to get some confidence and rhythm. I'm still excited and expect to win but its going to be a tough game, I can see us in a crucial position late and hopefully we learn how to close games even though we got a young team

*I understand every week presents a different challenge,I made this because I see an overload of posters blindly bashing Carolina by their reputation in the media, you'd think we were 10 point favorites the way some people are talking

First off, Carolina played a HOME game, they weren't on the road in Seattle. That, in and of itself, is significant because historically West Coast teams play like utter crap when they travel to the East Coast for a 1:00pm game. The overwhelming percentage of time they lose.

Second, Dwan Edwards is one of their starting DT's. I find it difficult to believe that he's suddenly turned into Warren Sapp.

Third, their offensive line is a complete and utter dumpster fire.

Fourth, their LB's are good but I'm not sure they can match Buffalo's speed.

Fifth, Beason has a knee injury and is limited in practice.

Sixth, their D-line is NO WHERE near as good as New England'ss. They have no one comparable to Wilfork.

This game will be no tougher than last weeks and we're play a QB that isn't anywhere near as good as Brady. I fully expect Pettine will have Cam Newton talking to himself by halftime.

I don't see the Bills winning Sunday. I just don't. Depleted secondary, struggling rush offense, rookie QB, shaky play calling and a very young team. I think for as we'll as the Bills played Sunday against the Pats, I think you see a pretty big let down from a young Bills team.

Not only will they win, they will dominate. Carolina is coming off a demoralizing loss at home against the Seahawks in a game they were winning. Now you might say the Bills just had the same thing happen, but there are a couple differences. One, Bills get to stay at home and redeem themselves in front of their fans. Carolina has to travel. Second, Bills are used to losing games like that, it won't faze them now. Plus the Bills are a young team, they're still hungry for that first victory under the new regime.

Can Newton has not looked good, in preseason or last week. The offensive scheme makes no sense. Manuel should outplay him. Carolina does have a very good front seven, but ours is also very good. Cam Newton will be scared on every play. Carolina also has a poor secondary.

Plus the Bills shook off all their nerves last week and hanged tough with their rival. They are ready to go out there and dominate this game. I predict a Bills win by at least a TD.

in all honesty though I've gotten the same impression from Bills fans about how down they are and feel terrible for them.

There should be a minimum winning season over a certain year span requirement that owners have to meet or be kicked out from ownership. would keep a lot of these guys more dedicated.

I saw one Bills fan say they've only beat NE twice in 15 years? That can't be right?

Edit: Found it.

Bingo. In the NFL every team is going to have talent. For Buffalo NE has always been a tough game to win. We've beat them like twice in the last 15 years I think. Pitiful. Carolina is probably a solid team. But lets not forget that the Bills are pretty decent too. It should be a good game. 3 point spread isn't too bad. It should be a good game.

Somebody should really link them Edwards stats from last year if they think he's some scrub....

My biggest concerns.

1. Who covers Stevie Johnson

2. Can our OL handle their Defensive front.

3. Can our running game maintain a respectable YPC average like last week.

4. Will we take the shots deep that we didn't last week.

    • For starters, and again I am not sure what his capacity is in the media or how connected he is to the team, but I posted above Al Wallace says he is "absolutely" getting 50+ a year and he deserves it.  I obviously strongly disagree with it but it feels like like season when the team is slow leaking info to gauge the temp.   Secondly nobody on Gods green earth is going to sign an extension making less than he is making now.  Thats just crazy talk.
    • No. Physical tools alone aren't enough. There are plenty of examples of draft busts to support that. Aost all of them had the physical tools and that wasn't enough. But Bryce is a perfect example of the opposite. Absolutely elite intangibles aren't enough either. If you simply don't have the physical abilities all the football intelligence and work ethic in the world won't be enough to overcome it. Just look to the sidelines every Sunday. We call those people "coaches".
    • As much as I despise Billy B, his philosophy on QBs is how I would approach things if I were a GM. You always keep looking for your next starter.  He has Bledsoe, who got injured and his backup ended up being the GOAT. Even while he had that going, he kept getting his next guy and developing them. When Brady got hurt, Cassel stepped in and went 11-5 and they missed the wild card by dumb luck. Who knows how far they would have gone if they had gotten in. Jimmy Gs career started in NE. There were others, but he always kept looking.  You can't be afraid to keep looking for your next starter, but it looks like we're afraid to look for more than a marginal one. If you're going to offer a $25m contract with incentives, that screams marginal QB. It also screams you're just a transition until we find our guy. After a 10 or 11 win season, he's not accepting that offer. And then you're in a Daniel Jones situation. Do you pay for a year of success and pray it wasn't a one year wonder?  To this point, Bryce has really produced nothing, yet for whatever reason, our FO has not even sniffed at the idea that we need a real QB room with real QBs. Dalton was never starter potential, Plummer was a joke. KP certainly isn't, neither is Grier.  Our approach to the QB room needs to be one of strength not fear. Bring in guys who can compete or who you think can compete. This is THE elite position, in an elite sport, paid premium salary, where production matters. Either you produce or you can lose your job. It's not mean, it's just the reality of the position.  And I'm really just tired of our candy ass approach to it.
