Cam has to feel trapped on a terrible football team

So then you agree with Rivera's decision to kick a field goal and punt to Buffalo up six with less than two minutes?

If anyone is beyond help, it looks like it's you. Keep defending that pansy ass football our coaches are running.

I have not defended Rivera. I find no defense for him.  He's gone.  Hardly knew him.  But only a fool would lay all the blame at the feat of coaching based on today's performance.  I agree with taking points your O delivers in any way possible and I agree in kicking the ball when your O sucks and your defense is the only thing resembling an NFL unit.

Neither of those debates have anything to do with Cam holding the ball, taking sacks and airmailing bullets into the wrong zipcode of his intended targets all afternoon.  He's just not that great.  Not consistently anyway.

Maybe when he matures a little more.

When someone calls the QB out it doesn't mean they also don't acknowledge the coaching. It's part of a bigger problem yes but still an issue in it's own right.

We have a situation where our QB hasn't gotten there yet in large part because we have a terrible coaching staff bottom line. It's not helping him out and he sometimes looks lost with accuracy issues, holding on too long, and also poor anticipation on his throws. It's evident and yes our coaching is the major problem.

I wouldn't speak too soon for other posters. There are many here who have clear agendas.

Cam was definitely off accuracy wise. Why the hell Shula continued to call those passing plays that took years to develop and didn't lean on the run game until it was too late is beyond me. Tolbert is still criminally underutilized.

All in all, until I can see our quarterback with a competent coaching staff, I'm not giving up on him.

Ill take Johnny Football Over Cam Newton Anyday.  Hopefully he and rivera are both gone before the years over.   Cam is not as good as people think. That has started to become more and more clear. Sheer luck and atheletic ability took him this far, but football talent and leadership ability is negligible at best.

lmao the huddle,.

lmao

the agenda is to get a QB who can win a game.  You see it your way and think he is great.  I don't.  I have at times seen the flashes but I cannot blame the coaches on all these close losses when I see him playing so inconsistently.

Depending on our record, we really might end up trading Cam this upcoming offseason...I still believe he can be a great QB with the right coaching. We set him up for fail...Chud saw the writing on the wall and used it to his advantage to leave and gain a HC job...won't be surprised if Cam does the same

Last time I checked Cam gave us a lead of 6 ponints and what happens, the defense collapses and we lose. How is that Cam's fault. If the coaches would have went  for it instead of FG, then this would be a different story. We need to play  every down like its the last no more field goal.............  :cam2:

Cam gave us a six point lead?

Last I checked the defense gave us field position on back to back turnovers and Cam failed to capitalize resulting in six points,,,

Wait, what.

So you're okay with not going for it on fourth down and kicking a field goal and giving it back to Buffalo only up six points for our defense with a depleted secondary who gave up 436 yards on the day to win us the game?

Maturity? Seriously? That tells me all that I need to know about who I'm conversing with. Like talking to a wall.

2-14 in games decided by 7 points. How many of those loses are on Cam being "inaccurate" and Rivera being an inept coach?

    • Yeah the only way current set up is fun is if every year a different tiny school builds a super team and makes a run. You just need 1 rich guy to say you know what would be funny, if I drop 30 million and my school has a shot at a national championship.   They won't ever do it but put some sort of tiered salary cap in place and sign them to 4 year deals. You can only transfer up or down tiers no lateral moves because mean ole coach at texas doesn't play me enough so I'm going to Tennessee. So a player at prairie view can transfer to texas and get paid more or a player from UNC can transfer to UNCG because he isn't getting playing time. If a guy is transferring "up" he can get a salary bump if the team has salary cap space. A guy transferring down has to stay at the same salary as he signed his 4 year deal for so the lower tier team would have to have the cap space to sign him. It would stop the money chasing for lateral moves but allow guys who improve massively at lower schools to make more money as juniors and seniors and hopefully keep more guys in one place because the contract is for 4 years.
    • Bryce youngs first starts for 3 years   51 of 103 49%     153 yards avg 6 ints 2 tds   But this is the year he turns it around
    • His third year was worse than Bryce's third year, significantly so.  And he had a game where he threw for 120 yards, two inteceptions, and had a fumble.  He had multiple games where he threw for more int's than td's.
