It could be worse. We could have extended Hardy for big money before the season.

Phew, now that was close. I praise Gettleman for not flinching and signing Hardy to a big contract. I really hate to say I told you so, but I believe most in here will remember my post a few weeks ago titled "Why resigning Hardy would be a mistake." And boy oh Boy im glad Gettleman shared my thoughts.

Imagine how much more mad we would be now had Gettleman extended Hardy for a 40 million or so contract. Yes we are stinking it up now, but alteast we dont have another big contract tied up in another overrated (yes I said it, OVERRATED) player from the Hurney era. Hardy is ok but put him on a team stacked with pro bowler DEs and hes the backup.

Man Gettleman is a pure genius. He knew not to sign big money to these Hurney players because he knew many of them simply arent worth it. Now I hope Gettleman really gets the ball rolling and blows this team up, get rid of the lingering Hurney/Fox stench and start over fresh.

yeah he's been pretty disappointing so far

I was right when I said resigning Stewie was a huge mistake and I was right about Hardy. Extending a player for a big contract after just one year of good play is downright foolish. I would much rather pay bigger money if the player has another good season then extending a player with pne good season and hope and pray it works out.

And just think, Hardy is in a contract year and stinking it up, Imagine if he already got his big contract.
