Tony Dungy "There is no such thing as scoring too quickly"

Said last night during the SNF game.

He is right.

Despite what Rivera says, and despite the nuckle heads here that defended Rivera saying it, there is no such thing as scoring too quickly.

Look how our offense performed in the 2 minute drill. They looked like a competent offense again, marched right down the field and got the touchdown. Give Cam a few play choices for a series, and let him call it at the line. Don't wait for Shula to throw a dart and see which play call it hit on the board.

It is time to hand the offense to Cam and let him do what he wants to do. In short, let cam ball.

Did we stick with what worked? Heck no. Right back to taking forever to get a play off and letting the defense be fully prepared.

If you have a way to make the other team go into prevent defense in the first/third quarter I am sure the Panthers are all ears...

The bills were not in prevent.

He doesn't even know what prevent is. Prevent is what you put in against a Hail Mary. We typically run a very deep cover three. Corners and single safety drops while a lineback and safety cover a zone 10-20 yards deep.

We just can't get pressure in these situations. That said, we faced a good offensive line and were beat in the trenches on both sides of the ball and that spells loss at any level, we would have won that game despite our lineman instead of because.

Our secondary, I'm no longer worried about as long as josh Thomas, Mikell, and Mitchell are in the game. All three are solid and none of the IMO are a liability.

I believe Stevie only had 3 catches for like 10-15 yards before Thomas went out, we all know what happened after that.

The sad thing is even when Jake was the qb our offense has always looked better in the two min drill

Most offenses do. I never thought it was rational to continue to not play a two minute offense. It's almost like your playing to punt. I understand that the situation dictates different calls, but Chip Kelly noticed this 2 minute offense success before it was popular and has turned it into a religion versus situational football.

I believe that the no huddle after the half was all on Cam. Shula probably asked and Cam offered his opinions. Yet, we abandoned it after one drive again. If we can create match up problems against teams with one good corner, I saw go for it.

Getting Smith or Ginn lined up on a guy like Rogers in any game is a success in itself.

    • More so than the stats it was against that killer defense in their own stadium, the same defense that made Mahomes look like a total JAG in the SB. The way Bryce handled adversity all game was simply phenomenal , the off script play in the end zone, scrambling out of a sack/safety to find XL deep was one of the best plays we have seen out of a Panthers QB on what should have been a game winning drive
    • He’s about to be 0-12 in the conference finals and we’ve been outscored 16-4 in this series after only losing 2 games the previous two rounds and looking really in control of the series. There’s major red flags here as to why he seems so overmatched once he gets to a certain level. There comes a point where “just getting there” isn’t good enough. We are at that point.
    • Listening to the post-game, and holy poo! Has Rod ever said, "this one's on me." When asked about composure, he threw Staal and Martinook under the bus. "Those 2 can't be your best players." Disregarding that he didnt answer the question, does he realize how that sounds to professional athletes? When asked how you prepare for game 4, "I'm not even thinking about that." Clearly, Rod.
