Ron Rivera: Norv Turner Clone?

I think Rivera is more of a Mike Singletary.....

Now hopefully we can find our Jim Harbaugh

We could have had our Jim Harbaugh. It was a guy named Jim Harbaugh. He happened to be the guy that most people thought was the front runner for the Panthers job in 2011, but we never interviewed him. Turns out he wasn't willing to work for below league average salary. Oh well, I'm sure we'll do just as well with the guy we hire on the cheap.

see we're uh looking for a coach eager to uh prove himself that, you know, doesn't come in thinking he owns the place and deserves money like he's some kind of great coach.

also, re: Harbaugh, "Who?" - Jerry Richardson.

Give that team to a Harbaugh, Parcells, or Cowher, they win the super bowl going away, They had the #1 rated defense and the #1 rated offense in the NFL that season. How do you NOT win the super bowl?

Harbaugh hasn't won jack poo and lost with two teams far superior to any of those SD teams.

The love that lunatic gets around here is absurd.

I really try to respect your opinion, but to say that Harbaugh has not won "jack poo" (conference championship) in his first 2 years in the NFL is simply not accurate.  Nor is your supposition that the 2009 Chargers were inferior.  DId you read the part about being the #1 ranked defense and the #1 ranked offense in the NFL in 2009?  Nobody gets better than that.

Finally, I am not loving Harbaugh, I am loving the fire he brought to SF. The aggressive swagger that was not there before he arrived.  The ability to get the most out of the team's most important position and win about 75% of his games.   If you want to criticize him for not winning a Super Bowl during his first 2 years in the league, go for it.

rivera isn't fit to whiff norv's jock strap.

Everyone forgets that Norv went to the AFC championship game, and also how stacked the AFC was at the top back then.

Pats, Baltimore, Indy, Pitt, you had to go through two all time great QB's and 2 all time great D's to get to the Super Bowl.

Norv beat the Peyton led Colts twice in the playoffs.

Norv should have been gone before last year, but let's not even compare the two coaches.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
