What a difference a D makes: Mitchell and White

I think Mitchell has a home at FS for the rest of the season and maybe beyond if he's good enough, cause he's definitely cheaper than Godfrey. Hopefully Mikell gets healthy soon, because the combo of Mitchell and Mikell at FS and SS could be the hardest hitting defensive backfield in the league.

With our front 7 we don't need the best coverage safeties in the whole world. Leave the coverage to the CBs and the literal fear of death to the safeties.

Melvin White was they guy who sent the awesome tweet about not being invited to the combine, not getting drafted, but still making a team. I've been a fan of his since Smitty gave him a reigning endorsement on WFNZ during training camp.

For whatever reason the Seahawks got me wanting big physical corners, and Melvin fits the bill.

Melvin wasnt cut and placed on PS. He actually made the 53 man roster. Just been inactive.

I've been saying that I thought Mitchell would made a better FS than Godfrey with the times I saw in Preseason. He's clearly better in coverage than Godfrey. I want to see more of Lester too. I think he's going to be something good for a long time. But, I'd still like Mikell to come back soon.

How come the play that Mitchell laid out the WR right next to the sidelines wasn't flagged for defenseless receiver? I thought defenders couldn't hit them while they were still up in the air anymore? It was later in the game against I think Reuben Randle.

i said the same thing and was praying they didn't throw a flag, i guess the only reason was Lafell got blasted earlier and they picked the flag up.......fair play?

i like mitchell and hope we keep him around. every good defense needs a nasty/crazy streak, and between mitchell and hardy we have two horrifyingly mean players who will happily break you in half. offenses think about that stuff.

i guarantee you carson palmer still remember the hardy-and-CJ sammich we made last year.

I pied Panther17 on his post of Mitchell. I like Mitchell but he needs to learn when to lay wood. I was surprised that a flag wasn't thrown on his late hit that came well after the WR failed to catch the pass. I love his aggressiveness and intimidation, but he needs to get in line with the rules so he can help the team win easier and more often.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
