For those of you watching the SD/OAK game

Watch the Chargers offense. Spreading the field wide, keeping the box open, forcing an OLB or 2 into coverage and away from the quarterback, quick routes with receivers going all different directions, lots of motion.

THIS is the kind of offense that is tailor made for Cam Newton.

DeAngelo, however, struggles in this kind of offense taking handoffs as we saw with Chud, but who really gives a fu*k? He's fantastic on screen passes, and those are used often in the shotgun in McCoy's offense. Also, the Chargers utilize plenty of traditional I-form run formations that can help our run game and balance our offense.

Watch this offense, and picture Cam running it. All kinds of formations, very balanced, but all kinds of different things are happening. But they rarely bunch the formations unless there is motion. It's fantastic. Their offense is a perfect medium medium between Chud's and Shula's (and there are positive aspects of both).

Take notes Shula/Rivera/Next coach and coordinator. This is where the Panthers will find success

Wow! Moore just made a wide open catch in the endzone. Trade for him now!

Well, to be fair it was Richard Marshall "covering" him.  You know, the guy who we picked in the 2nd round who thought he was going to be the highest paid defensive player in the league once his rookie contract was up?  THAT Richard Marshall.  LOL

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
