David Gettleman Cleaning House

Truthfully I'm all for Gettleman cleaning house. He inherited a mess off a football team. Bad contracts, coaches, players and all. Trust and believe he will turn the organization into a winning franchise. It takes time. We will be going into the draft with a number of picks on our side and cash to grab up some quality " "Proven" FA. Patience is necessary.

So we cut AE and signed C Brian Folkerts, WR Marvin McNutt, resigned Ben Jacobs and Jeff Tarpinian to PS. What the Hell is going on!!

Pretty simple really, with Silatolu out that makes Byers, who is the backup center, next in line for either guard spot behind Scott and Wharton.  So bringing Folkerts up from the practice squad gives us a backup center if anything happens to Byers or Kalil.  Bringing in McNutt from Miami's practice squad just allows another wide receiver who may have potential to take Edwards spot who is obviously not going to see the field.  So it left us 2 spots on the PS which went to Jacobs who resigned back on the practice squad and Tarpinian who is a developmental player.

We have had pretty good luck bringing in guys from the practice squad who actually contribute and in some cases have started.

i really hope so. this team is too loose and too happy when game time comes. they need to be hungry and pissed. they've gotten complacent and comfortable, even when losing. they accept it as just something that happens and just shrug it off. they'd become good losers and that's the culture.

But wait, wait, WAIT!!!

We've been told for over two years now that a sour attitude and distaste for losing just isn't PROFESSIONAL.

Right? ;)

Cutting Armanti is like removing the spare tire from your car and expecting it to run better.  There were already open roster spots and AE wasn't consuming cap room.  I

Actually it is more like changing a spark plug with another one because the car was riding rough.  Edwards was cut and McNutt was added who is a WR from the Miami practice squad.  edwards wasn't playing or contributing anyway.

Who said the purpose was to make it run better? If you have a burned out turn signal and a faulty starter you still need to tend to the turn signal.

One thing Im certain of is that people will find away to whine about Armanti for as long as they can.

Am I the only one that is starting to miss Marty Hurney? For the first time in about 5 years, I believe that we have a team that can win but coaching is holding us back. Mark my word, Gettleman is wanting to see if Cam can be a pocket passer, which we all know he is not. Cam will be gone in 2 years b/c Gettleman feels that you must have a pocket passer to win in this league, he has said it before. Richardson should have hired a guy that wants to put a o-line and weapons around him. I really just don't buy what Gettleman is selling right now!!!!

you need a qb that can consistantly convert third downs. Guess where a qb has to be able to throw from on a vast majority of those throws. You will always need a pocket qb in this league, athelthism allows you to throw in more plays 1st and 2nd down.

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
