DE Robinson gets 4 year 28 million max.....so Hardy?

Ok I know this guy I believe is about 5 years older but two years in a row with 8 sacks, has one sack as of now.  Hardy 3 sacks against the Gaints so a little off since it was the Gaints OL.....Just wanting to see if this puts some better numbers for the devil his agent to look at and reconsider what we offered Hardy....I'm not sure how much was guaranteed with our offer but 4 years 32 million at about 8 million a year...I mean does Hardy really think he's going to get a CJ type contract 6 years 72 million or does he just want out of Charlotte?  I know he says he wants to stay but is that just words to get the front office to feel like he'll keep playing after he gets his payday?  I love Hardy and his motor and think our front 7 could be very dangerous as our secondary (young) starts to show more and more growth over this year but if he wants that kind of money I say let him go and get some veteran OL help.  What do y'all think we should pay and at what amount should we say just let him go or do we just pull a peppers and franchise him next year and then let him walk?  KEEP POUNDING!!!!

No point in even trying to guess what his contract will be. Gettleman will get it done; the. We'll find out the details and one way or another here everyone will think it's "the worst deal ever" or " a steal". No point in jumping the gun.

I'd like for us to get above .500 though. That's worth talking about

If the season ended today, I would say let him walk. He had a productive year last year (yippee yay), but so far this year his play (except for exploiting an awful Giants display) just doesn't warrant the money that he apparently wants.

I'm in the we-overpaid-CJ camp, so to me that's not a realistic benchmark for Hardy. Moreover, CJ's constant and consistent motor was evident from the beginning, and you just can't say that about Hardy when looking at his career, as compared to CJ's  at the same point in my opinion.

Lastly, I may be higher on Alexander, Horton and Addison than I ought to be, but one or the other should be able to consistently play at the level that Hardy has put in on the gridiron. If Hardy doesn't step it up soon, he'll be known more for his shtick, than his play.

I hope he walks. We spent ourselves into oblivion on the same "core" Hurney players from the Fox 2-14 era and all we have to show for it is a 14-22 record for three seasons. If Hardy beasts out and we make a run for the wild card, fine recsign him. But if we have another losing season, its time for Gettleman to Jacksnville Jaguars this mofo and start a full on rebuild. Tired of signing "core" players from losing seasons.

You better hope Horton or Addison works out then because Hardy is by far our second best pass rusher. Don't even mention Alexander (a 3rd down DE).

Short and Star are becoming into their own with Johnson. We could also get someone cheaper than what Hardy is asking for in FA.

He reportedly turned down 4 years, 32 million

Yeah, I must have been under a rock or something because I totally missed it before the OP's thread.

It's just disappointing.  Don't know the particulars, but 8 mil per year seems more than fair.

    • He had a turnover on all three goals he was on the ice for. Plus he had that god awful delay of game penalty. Like legit his GS actually shows he was the cause of the loss and he was only on the ice for 12 minutes. You remove him from that game and the Canes win or at worst go to OT.  Let's put this in perspective, in 12 minutes he directly led to 3 goals against. In the 48 minutes without him on the ice it was an even-steven 2-2 game and that's disregarding that god awful delay of game penalty that led to goal number 4 of the 5 given up.      I don't see how anyone could say that he didn't directly lead to the loss.
    • reality is the piling on of Frank Reich is just the standard huddle angle we take of putting all blame on someone after the fact.   as I was an OG Frank hater before it was cool to be......now the swing goes too far the other way and people will claim me is as a Frank defender.  Frank Reich was the definition of a .500 middle of the road NFL coach.  He technically was a winning coach and above .500 coming here but he is and was NFL average.  we were the biggest joke in a decade.....because they paired Frank Reich (a dude who was going to do what he does in the NFL) with a dude who couldn't do NFL basics and Frank was forced to play him.  That's not Frank being a loser.  That a bad org around Frank.
    • Toronto is less physical than us, and they took them to 7  I really wish they would have won, because we match up better with them, but we have to deal with what we got  What worries me is Svech trying to take out Bob, that is desperation, that's what you do when you feel like there is no legit options left, it's what I feared, Bob is still in our core groups head, and they are over thinking, over passing Hopefully that changes tonight
