what 49er fans are saying

How we match up defensively will be interesting.

Like Cam Newton, you can't run too much man to man on defense against the 49ers, with their running game you can't keep two high safeties very often either.

It will be hard to rely on just the front 4 to stop the run, because they will utilize a lot of read option and stuff like that to get blocking advantages and double teams on Star and Dwan.

They are hard to defend on offense, but so are we.  If we take care of the ball we will score some points.  It will be all about protecting the ball.

There is a realty good chance, I would say likely, that this will be a lot like Seattle game, where it will be a low number of possessions, and mistakes like drops and turnovers will be magnified.

If we play a clean game we will win or at least have a chance to.  If we have a bunch of drops, or even a single turnover, it will be tough unless we turn them over as well.

I see a score of 14-10 going to whoever takes care of the ball better

I meant ILB.

Ray Lewis can't even talk in complete sentences, and he also said Russell Wilson is the best young QB in the league because he has a great team.

Take what Ray Ray says with a grain of salt.

Wilson is great. Total package, currently I think he is the best. He doesn't have the ceiling IMO others have.

Lewis made those comments about ILB vs MLB when he was playing. He knows a thing or two about both considering he is a HOF LB

Oh, and I think Kaep and Cam are very similar passers.  Sometimes they are going to miss.  Both are great because of their legs as much as their arms.  Kaep may have better top end speed, where Cam is a lot stronger and maybe a little bit more shifty than Kaep.

Their games remind me a lot of each other

Read through every post. These people are annoyingly dumb as rocks.

The most irritating posts are those that say we are trying to imitate their "run and stop the run" style of play.

Do they not realize that we have been that mold since coming into the league in 1995? Do they not realize that we are the only team to have ever put two backs over 1,100 yards in the same season? Do they not remember how many times we've been at the top of the league for both rush offense and defense?

They act like Harbaugh invented this style of play and anyone else who does it is copying them... What a bunch of tools and fools.

Here's a fun little fact: Ron Rivera has been coaching the stingiest defenses since 1997, FIVE years before Jim Harbaugh even coached for the first time as a QUARTERBACKS coach.

He didn't start coaching anything else in the NFL until 3 seasons ago. So stop with this "everyone who pounds the ground & stops the run is copying Harbaugh", because that logic is legitimately retarded.

Kaep reminds me more of RGIII out of all the young QBs. Less fragile.

Outside of Luck, none of the talked about young kids have been asked to make as many consistent tough throws as a passer.

Cam is easily the best runner of all of them

With all of that said, unfortunately Mr Harbaugh isn't as mentally handicapped as the Niners fans.

I see us losing this one, especially since we are away and they're fresh off of their bye. But I also think the Niners are gonna make a run at playing in the Super Bowl again despite Kaep being a terribly overrated QB. Just goes to show how much coaching and unity matter in the NFL.

A lot of our fans that keep saying Kaep is overrated, I think some of us think he is overrated in the same way that a lot of our opponents think Cam is overrated.  Like Cam, sometimes he can run a little hot and cold passing the ball.  But when you add in the dimension of his running and scrambling he is a very, very good QB.

Don't sleep on Kaep.  You want him to beat you from the pocket, but you still have to get pressure and get him uncomfortable or else he will eat you up.  I think we may see a variety of blitzes on Sunday up the middle, with DEs trying to keep outside contain, with the backside being manned up.

They create a lot of problems defensively, but so do we.  And we have the type of defense to give them problems.

    • If Canales comes back and Bryce doesn’t I would probably prefer to bring in 3 guys he likes from around the league or maybe outside a top ten pick and work through them, give that a shot. Because if we win a few more games we won’t be in the running for the top rated QB prospects anyway.
    • You mean tepper but yeah I agree about rhule   Baker is a top 3 potential qb that is play for mvp and he is doing it with a slew of injuries
    • There’s too many to reply to so I’ll just say a couple more things then I’m out: 1. It hasn’t been both ways and that’s the point. People saying stuff like “too bad Bryce Young didn’t make that tackle” is a direct result of the ridiculousness of blaming Bryce Young for literally everything. I remember one game day thread a poster unironically blamed Bryce Young for JT Sanders flipping onto his own neck and injuring himself. That post was pied. I literally just read a post blaming Bryce Young for XL dropping a ball on a would-be game winning drive last year. This past week, when Tmac bounced a ball off his hands for an interception, Bryce Young was immediately blamed in the game day thread. Alternatively, people who try to give credit to Bryce Young are immediately told that to credit Bryce Young is taking away credit from Rico Dowdle, OL, whoever, and that they shouldn’t be talking positively about Bryce Young because he doesn’t deserve any credit. 2. Yes, there have always been bad posters, the difference is that back then they were largely derided. Bryce Young’s rookie season, when many of us were simply pointing at the train wreck of the whole team and saying it was maybe a little tough to evaluate Bryce Young when he had no time to throw and slow receivers, and just saying basic stuff like “Bryce Young can physically throw the ball further than 20 yards.” There was an attempt made to limit all those opinions to a single thread, by a mod. This is like saying lunatics running the asylum is normal because there have always been lunatics in the asylum. The difference is before they were patients, now they’re in charge. 3. I know for a fact I am labeled as one of the “Bryce Stans” by many of the usual suspects, but the fact of the matter is they have no idea what my position is on Bryce Young because any attempts at nuanced discussion in the past have been so completely pointless due to never being able to get past the hyperbole. How can we have a serious conversation if you insist he is physically incapable of throwing a football 20 yards? Or if you insist that he somehow duped the Panthers into drafting him just by drinking water? Or if you insist that he should be able to succeed behind one of the worst offensive lines I’ve ever seen (rookie year, not now). And I’m not the only one, there are many who have left the huddle because of it and started a discord server, I’m just too lazy for another app.
