what is your life's work?

what is your ultimate goal through the books/illustrations/acting? are they the end, or are they themselves the mean to some greater end to which you dedicate your life?

No, they are the end. I just want to make something; I want to tell stories. And I want the stories I tell to be good enough that I have the means to tell more. What's the fun of writing one book that tanks and you never get to do another?

I'm not really sure, but good question.

I normally think of what I want to do for others, rather than what I want to do for myself.

Would like to be successful enough to start a building business, or become a small time developer.  Also be able to provide a great living for my fiance, children (if we have any) and my parents.

be the kind of dad that when my girls are ready to get married they want their husband to be like me. minus the analogies and hazy few years.

if someone asked me what is my hobby i would simply say this. people. i'm insatiably curious about people and what makes them tick and feel and do what they do and if that could lead me to a radio job interviewing people or making them think or laugh then thats cool.

sometimes i wonder if the varied jobs i have had WAS my life's work in this sense. i have impacted people on every job as well as help upper mgt see not only newer innovations but how to better connect with the serfs. i always find myself right in the middle of the white and blue collars. i enjoying bridging the gap and helping each side see some value in the other.

i still write some screen plays and i want to travel but they don't consume me the way trying to take of my family or stir up grass roots efforts right here where im at.

if each person focused on a 5-7 square mile radius of where they lived to make that area a little better then what they found it. then i think we can sleep well at night.

I work in property management, learning the industry, and saving up to buy my own properties, so I can self manage them.

Not all that easy in the Bay Area. But I have at least one property so far.

All in hopes to be able to retire in my 50s and spend time with family, traveling the world, etc.

And to leave my children with a better life than mine. Same values, ethics and moral. But a better living is all.

As far as Life Goals, I had a epiphany last year when I spent New Years week in a Hospital in Brazil after getting deathly sick and ended up flying back halfway through a 4 month stay in Brazil, that I may need to reevaluate my plans for life going forward at the age of 26.

I put in place my Goals to achieve before the Age of 30, and they were 1, Finish School. 2, Get a Career Job. 3, Move to Asheville, Charlotte or Charleston SC. 4, get Married.

So far Goal 2 has been completed.

Goal 1, should be finished within the next year and a half.

Goal 3, Asheville is where I really want to move because of Personal interest in Mountain sports and I'm a Big fan of the Mountains and Asheville in General, Love the Charlotte area and Charleston so those two would be equally acceptable for final destinations as well.

Goal 4, no serious girlfriend atm mainly because I've sank myself into Work and School, and considering where I am now(Greenville NC) I don't want to get in a relationship with anyone that may want to move back here at any point for any reason (IMO the area sucks) so I don't want to date anyone in the area I am now for that reason, which you think this may be a weird thing but people from here for some reason think its heaven on earth and always end up moving back, and a friend of mine from work fell victim of this and has been much discussed which has done nothing but further my belief of this threat to my personal happiness.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
