Belichick says he has seen the Panthers offense already this season...

Neither the Jets nor the Bills have the running game we do.  Stewart is also a huge X-factor, and they are missing a mass of a man in Wilfork.  Offenses might be somewhat similar, but we have something that the other don't--a quality running attack that threatens on EVERY down.

Better run game than the Bills? You're joking right?

We have been missing the other half of our 1100 yard a piece duo.  Granted I may have been embellishing a little, it is not too far-fetched to consider our running game better than the Bills.  Analysts rely on Brady's, Peyton's, and Brees', etc résumés and body of work when they are going through relatively "down" times, right?  They use their previous accomplishments to justify high position rankings.  I'm just doing the same thing with our running game.  Add in Tolbert and a more mature Cam, sprinkle in some in-game reps for Stewart, and yes, you just might see a coming out party.  That is all I'm saying.

Guys, they know Cam has had a fairly poor showing the past couple of weeks. They are stacking the box and daring the QB to beat them with his arm. If good Cam shows up they will be looking for answers. Look for a couple of cheap shots on Newton as soon as they can get them in to try and rattle him and test this "even composure" thing.

I'll say this, you give Bellichek two weeks to prepare for someone and he is gonna be ready.  You can call him a cheater, or a fraud, or whatever, but he is a great coach and knows how to break teams down.

How we got San Fran off the bye and then New England coming off a bye is beyond me, thanks NFL.

Thats great.   In those road games, Buffalo put up 21 points and the Jets put up 30 points.  Given that our quarterback is better than rookies EJ Manuel and Geno Smith, we might put up 35.  That should be enough to win given we are giving up single digits on defense at home so far.

7 points in the Bills game was a defensive td off a Ridley fumble. Excluding ot and the pick 6, the jets scored 20 and that's without Talib. I can assure it's a much different defense with Talib on the field. One you don't want to pass against especially when your receivers are awful.

talib scares me more than anyone on that defense. do the pats usually play him in man?

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
