I don't think anyone would admit to becoming a fan AFTER newton

Lol yep, people won't admit it but over half this board are Cam fans. This doesn't just include the Auburn/fanboys, it includes the people who stopped watching or never really watched the Panthers until now, or with Cam. Those are post-Newton fans as well. and no, the Cam wagon fans are NOT long gone, they are here...until Cam leaves or starts to suck. They are fans of the Panthers because they are a fan of Cam, not a fan of Cam because they are a fan of the Panthers.

3 votes vs 183 LOL

People on this board are so full of poo. I was here in 2010, along with the other 20 posters. Bit different now, and no, not a coincidence.

I feel sorry for the people that didn't come around until the 2000's.  They never got to watch the Lamar Lathon, Kevin Greene, and Sam Mills linebacker squad we fielded.  Still to this day the best starting LB squad we have ever had.  When I was 12-13 Kevin Greene was by far my favorite player.

back in the mid 90's. I was 7-10. Upstate NY (no panther games), no internet back then, and obviously no Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket. Had to stay up until halftime of the Sunday night game, just to see Chris Berman mention our game for 14 seconds during his "2-minute Drill" segment :(

before the Panthers, I was young and no local team so I was a fan of Cunningham and Elway.  I leaned more towards Denver and those disappointing Super Bowl losses to Skins and Niners felt bad, so I was happy for them when they won in 98 and 99.  Like the Hornets, I was a fan of Panthers from day 1 which was easy as I was turning a teen when Panthers first started.

Been a Panthers fan since before there was a team. (My dad and Mr. Richardson were friends, and JJR asked my dad's opinion about his plans to seek a franchise. When Dad told me about it, I vowed then and there that if he got a team, I would buy season tickets.) I purchased my PSLs in the first wave, and until health issues reared their head last year, I had never missed a home game. (Even attended one in a foot boot and one in a cast on my foot.)

I went to the Hall of Fame game (our first game) and to the Super Bowl.

I've never missed watching an away game, and have attended quite a few. Now that I'm not going to games (but still own my PSLs, which family is using), I haven't missed watching any game.

Honestly if you don't want to admit being a fan until after Newton came in because you're ashamed or something I don't see what the problem is. It's an NFL team, not fuging Harvard university, and this franchise is still relatively young and there's a lot of history yet to be made. Don't be worried about what some douche thinks about calling you a bandwagoner or whatever. I've got your back and I'm one of the smartest posters on here

Day 1 for me. Sports have been a huge part of my life. I was 7 when the Panthers came into the league and wanted to follow a team right from the start. The Panthers name, logo and colors appealed to me alot more than Jacksonville's (thank god) so I made them my team.

Living in Canada, I had Fox New York and Minneapolis. Wasn't often the Panthers would be on TV. So I would watch the sports ticker for literally 3 hours each Sunday. If the possession dot on the ticker didnt change when the score came up every third time, I knew someone was going to score, due to TOP. Thank god, times have changed since then and I can watch every game now.

I found out about this place while attending Cam's debut in AZ. Dude sitting next to me was a panthers fan and told me about it. Almost wish he didn't, this place has consumed way too much of my time since then.
