Patriot fines

Keep Pounding

Recommended Posts

Sure you will.  But because it was a Monday night game they will come out later in the week.

I'm just not confident with the randomness of the NFL and their fine practices.  If they do fine the pats players you damn sure wont hear anything about it save for a blurb on the ticker during "expert" analysis of "the call".

cannon will get one.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a game suspension thrown in also. Many people have been calling for that since it was an outright dirty play. Defensive players want to be protected also. He might be giving some leniency since he at least manned up and sought Johnson out to apologize and the fact that he didn't end his season but without a doubt a well deserved fine is coming.

We got really lucky on the injury, when I saw CJ pounding his fist on the ground, I wanted to crack a bottle.

I'm not sure if this guy should be suspended, but a simple apology isn't going to cut it.

you could even hear clearly on the tv the scary man screams CJ was letting out in pain.

Of course the apology isnt enough. Otherwise all it'd take is for someone to rough up an opposing qb by twisting their ankle or hitting them in the knees, seeing them out on IR the rest of the year, then apologize. But I doubt cannon gets any suspension.

In a side topic, has Suh been suspended for anything, or just fined for his onfield plays

Its only released when an interested party asks. If they ask and publish you will hear. The league does not release or broadcast publically themselves.

    • That was always the fear, expectation, concern, etc, I had.  Someone showed a still shot from his pick last game and said it showed that the defender closed 3 yards on that ball in the last portion of its flight. I forget the number. 10 yards I think it said but that sounds extreme.  When guys are open by a step, any slowing down to wait for the ball lets the defender back into the play. That sort of stuff makes the margins so small… these NFL CBs are not slow.   It is a league that highly values foot speed; the 40 times and drill times are scrutinized down to the hundredth of a second when evaluating these players on both sides of the passing game. Receivers and defenders both.   My thing with his arm strength (or anyone’s) was always “why do you want to do that? Plus pay extra picks to put yourself in that situation?”. Asking for trouble.     I wish there was a way to measure velocity on the back half of a throw compared to when it left the hand. Or really get accurate reading of the flight time of a ball from the near hash to the sideline, 10 yards down the field. Because teams could use that info. I have always seen this as being a disadvantage with Bryce but it is beyond my ability to quantify it.   I think it would show what that arm strength is really about, a lot more than just measuring how much air can you put under it so it will fly as far as possible.
    • Who didn't see that coming....
    • Its a detriment if he can't play...as we are seeing.
