saints vs FALCONS game thread

What Ron Rivera has lost Mike Smith has found.  What a dumb decision to attempt that field goal on 4th down.  Did he really think the best odds were stopping New Orleans and getting back into FG position was the best route?  What an ultra conservative call for a 2-8 team.  Falcon fans are prolly on suicide watch.

He should be fired for that call alone

Thats what it looked like to me.

He said something that caused the NFLN to blur his mouth during the highlights and they don't do that for just any bad word.

Jackson better be careful using that word in THAT city.

down by four with a minute and a half left and you go for the field goal? did smith forget that 3<4?

had they gotten the FG, what was next? recover an onsides kick? lol

it's a team without balls. that's their culture.

they could have won that game. they had plenty of opportunities to finish that game and they didn't do it. just a little better tackling and/or a little better play from the offense would have done it. the way the saints were playing, it just wouldn't have taken much to beat them. the falcons just don't have that little extra oomph they needed.

Was I supposed to be impressed with the Saints?

i sure wasn't. they almost lost to a team who only showed up for the first quarter. they looked completely beatable out there and should have been. i just wasn't impressed by what i saw.

if the saints were as good as many think, they would have blown the falcons away regardless of venue. the falcons just didn't look good at all, but they were still almost able to beat the saints.

saints better hope they don't have any away games in the playoffs because you put them against any competant team away from new orleans and they look quite unspectacular.

If Ryan wasn't such a wuss,(sliding vs. trying to take it in for a score early in the game) we could have been tied with NO. Even their fans understand, ref a post on the AFMB:

"He wouldn't have made it. He's not as big and fast as Newton. Newton could have run it in, taken the hit and not have felt a thing. Ryan is 6'5, but he doesn't possess a bunch of muscle mass or speed. We drafted him as a pocket passer. The only guys I could see scoring on that are Newton and Kaepernick".

I know it's easy to say the Saints were not impressive but I don't put much weight on performances on Thursday Night Football.  Such a terrible decision to have games on thursday nights.

I belive the Saints are definitely beatable both at home and away.  Just wouldn't expect the same sluggish performance either game against us that they showed last night against the Falcons.
