A Panthers - Dolphins Predictions thread

Here I will give you spoilers on the upcoming weekend.

First of all, RoaringRiot has me staying with his tailgate crew here...

So I predict many a hungover Panthers fan at the game.

As far as the actual game goes... here is what I see happening...

- Panthers will move the ball relatively easily against the 20th ranked defense in the league. The last road game on the west coast against a stout San Fran defense has battle tested them as of late.

- I expect Ted Ginn to run back a punt or a kickoff this game for 6. These things happen when you face the team that drafts you.

- Missing Charles Johnson will have more of an impact than people think and the Phins will put up a couple of touchdowns.

- Final Score: Panthers 27 - Phins 17.

It will be a very close game up until the 4th quarter when the Phins just run out of time.

Still can't believe I did not sign up fir this trip. What the hell was I thinking?

Hope to have you next year. Not too many attractive destinations but here's what I'm thinking:

Baltimore: I always prefer to do AFC opponents because we play at their place once every 8 years. I'll only do Baltimore if it's September or October....not going in the winter. Staying in the Harbor and catching an O's game would be sweet.

Tampa: I've got a good plan to stay out in Clearwater on the beach and make it an awesome weekend.

NoLa: been wanting to do this trip. Group tickets here is a huge challenge. All those Cajuns do support their team well.

Enjoy your trip Zod, got your field pass? We still supposed to be takin shots everytime youre spotted on the TV?

i see a big win for us similar to the ones we were having before san fran and the pats.

tannehill gets sacked 8+ times and throws a couple picks thanks to him deciding to take more chance downfield to try and get the ball to wallace.

i'd be surprised if the miami defense schemes against us anywhere near as well as the 49ers and pats did.

not sure what the score will be but i don't see the phins getting more than 13 points and i dont see them keeping us to less than 30.

    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
    • I can respect the fact that we should not glorify or normalize men who have a history of beating women.  I do not think anyone was thinking of that when they posted this, but if head-butting your wife and unconsensual sex (rape) is something you cannot overlook, I agree with that.  I think they are both half-crazed attention hounds regardless of their pasts.
