Extreme Bandwaggoning

Nothing delights me more than the demise of the freaking Steelers. Im old enough to remember (barely) when they drafted Bradshaw. Fuggin Terry Hanratty out of Notre Dame was their starting QB and they sucked! Of course the transplanted yankee fugs are clueless about this as they parade around in their black and yellow poo. And don't get me started on all the rednecks and their Cowpuke love. Fuggers could not find Dallas on a map. But because there is the word "cow" in their name (to your average snuff dipping, double digit IQ cowboy fan) they somehow conjour up fugging mental pictorials of Tractor Supply and rodeos.

Hate 'em all you want, but before you do you must first understand why you see Cowboy fans in NC, Raven fans in SC and Steeler fans everywhere. All those teams have a long history of winning over a couple generations. Even during some of their leaner seasons those teams at least were a formidable opponent and while not necessarily contenders, they still managed to play well.

I can't say the same for Saints fans simply because they're just stupid and don't understand they are paying over and over and over for that team just to stay in Louisiana. The state of Louisiana pays Saints owner Tom Benson hundreds of millions of dollars to keep the team in New Orleans and has been doing so for over 15 years now. So, not only do Saints fans pay for their tickets, they're also paying with their tax dollars.

The Patriots, despite their Super Bowl wins, struggle to build a fanbase outside the New England region. Why? Because they only started winning about 15-16 years ago. Before that they were much like the Panthers of today- inconsistent from one season to the next.

Not saying the Panthers have to be playoff bound year after year, but they need to be a consistent 7-9 or better for several years to build relevance. Relevance then becomes media exposure. Media exposure increases fanbase.... and so on....

Was out with the wife shopping on Thursday/Friday, and saw more people wearing panthers gear this year than ever. You can tell we are a big deal now...and i love it! I don't get as much grief for being a PSL owner...

What's up with every damn fans wanting to say "I'm a diehard Panthers fan since day 1".

97% of the fans on here most likely are not day1 fan. Even the "Cat Man" wasn't a day 1 fan!!!!

I've been a fan for only 10 years and I'm proud of it. No need to keep lying.

Count me as a 3% ter. Oct. 26 1993 I became a fan of the Carolina Panthers. Should anyone care....no. Im not trying to prove anything to anyone. Iam born and raised in NC. Home team that's all.

success breeds new fans. that's just how it works. you want stadiums filled? win. new fans will come.

i moved here from colorado in 2001 and didn't care about the panthers until i started hanging out with some guys that were die-hard panthers fans in high school and the panthers went to the superbowl... and even then i didn't really start truly getting into games until about halfway through the 2005 season. this doesn't make me less of a fan than someone who's been around since 95... just newer.

everyone's goal should be to turn a bandwagoner into a die-hard.
