We're Better Without Stewart

When Williams is the feature back he plays more free and our gameplay is more focused. Deangelo let loose today! It was fun to watch.

I love Stewart as a man and hope he heals quickly but personally I don't want to see him and Williams play together any more.

Dwill is simply better the more touches he gets.  He always has been.  He's not exactly the same back he was but he still can break off big gains and make defenses pay.  He's not done yet.

Stew is much better at getting yards even with few touches.  But, I think the time he missed earlier in the season costs the offense a bit when he's in the game.  Maybe I'm wrong though.

I been saying fug stewart from day 1 nd the huddle crucified me for saying so but in the end as usual I am right

Stewart was the better, more gifted back of the two, when he first came out of college. If you thought DWill was better from day one, then you are an absolute idiot and your judgment of football players leaves much to be desired. (Which fits nicely with your avatar).

However, Stewart just got injured often and never could practice. That was his issue and still is.

    • Right and I think we can have a conversation about that. But even with the scheme he should still be able to muster more than 1.5 sacks right? I mean DJ Johnson played in Evero's scheme too but that didn't stop us from calling him a bust. Scourton didn't seem to have trouble flashing. There can be different things true at one time.
    • I assume you are quoting my still. If so, I don't know what your argument is since mine was simply showing a play where Bryce scored a TD against the Rams in the playoffs where another poster used a similar still of Herbert's line to defend his poor performance last night. Like I said, Herbert is a better QB but Bryce wins the game last night for the Chargers. It simply is something he does better than Herbert and would play to his strengths. Someone even said earlier Chargers only win 1 or 2 games this year if Bryce was their QB which is so absurdly laughable it wasn't even worth trying to address. I mean this thread is literally called "Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panther's History" so I understand there is no objective arguments to be had here but I found that amusing.
    • I think his knee would make a good reason to switch to guard IF he returns.  Half don't.  Half of those don't last too long.  The strain on a knee (320lb man) vs speed rushers is more substantial.  So I would keep him if I could on a small contract (he will make $17.5 in 2026 fully guaranteed) and think of him as a possible guard for the post Lewis/Hunt era.  Knee injuries in big men are not invitations to invest in them.
