Thomas Davis

TD is one of those players who I kind of feel sorry for sometimes. Were it not for his multiple injuries he would have made the Pro-Bowl and a lot more money. Then he makes one of the most amazing comebacks from injury in the history of the NFL and doesn't even get acknowledged as comeback player of the year. I think he's due for more in his career. Dude is out there dominating.

Davis got a 5 year extension worth 35.5 million, making a average of 7+ million a year and was making a huge check for doing 3 years of rehab.  I'm not sure on which planet we should feel sorry for someone making more in a "year" playing sports and working out, then 99% of the world makes in lifetime of work.

Appears the original point is taken out of context.  Not to put words in someones mouth but I do believe he distinctly was referring to "players" and not "people".

If you wanted to feel sorry for Thomas Davis, you're about a year too late. Dude is probably the happiest guy on the face of the earth right now coming back from all he went through. He needed your well wishes then, now he just needs you to sit back and watch him work. One of the best in the game.

Feeling sorry got someone making millions to work out & run around playing a child's game is dumb. Regardless of the context.

Nobody should feel sorry for someone that makes a lot of money.........

..........but feeling sorry for someone that could their chance to live their passion is different........

No it isn't. If he would've been forced to retire in his mid 20s after his first injury he still would've made more money than 90% of people in the world who will work their entire life to survive.

Yet you would feel sympathy that he didn't get to play a game & make more money?

You dont have to be such a douche about this topic.  If you dont like it go read something else.  No need to get all sh*tty about other posters talking about a well liked Panthers player.  It is a football forum.  Not an economics forum.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
