The Kemba Walker Thread

I've been tracking Kemba's stats the last few games and his progression is astounding... while his assist numbers have dropped; his rebounds, steals, and blocks have all gone up. What's even more impressive is that three games ago Kemba was averaging 17.4 points per game and outside of the top ten in point guard scoring... Kemba is now averaging 18.4 points per game and is now eighth in point guard scoring. Raising your point per game average by a full point is hard enough in 10 games and damn near impossible in only three games.

Kemba Walker's Averages

18.7 points per game (ranked eighth among point guards)

4.6 assists per game

4.3 rebounds per game (ranked fifth among point guards)

1.4 steals per game

0.53 blocks per game (ranked first among point guards)

Other Stats

- ranks 1st in total blocks for point guards

- ranks 3rd in total rebounds for point guards

- ranks 3rd in total  defensive rebounds for point guards

- ranks 4th in total field goals made for point

- ranks 8th in total offensive rebounds for point guards

- ranks 10th in steals for point guards

I will update this thread periodically...

But I figured Kemba deserved his own thread because he is maturing and become a star right before our eyes.

Your post isn't remotely credible due to the fact that we played the Jazz...

I wouldn't even bother anymore. I'm convinced anyone who wants the Bobcats to tank or anyone who bashes Kemba is just a fair weather fan or doesn't understand the NBA

    • I probably would have become a casual Hornets fan if Cooper ended up there, but the NBA just solidified my apathy for its product. Hornets also got shafted when Lakers got cold feet on the Mark Williams trade. NBA is corrupt and that alien-headed Silver is the kingpin.
    • Most analysts from what I've seen are projecting next year's cap as closer to $298M. We saw a $24M increase this season, $31M increase last season, and $16M prior to that. There's also the inevitable cap casualties... A'Shawn Robinson being cut saves the team $8.5M. Damien Lewis would save $9M. BB3, Jewell, PJ2 all would save $5M each. Tremble and Mike Jackson could save $4M each. It wouldn't surprise me to see the team make a few moves that end up giving them closer to $50M in cap space to start 2026. I'm less worried about next year's cap space due to the upcoming UFAs for the team: TMo, AT, Tuttle, Wonnum, Nijman, Mays, Corbett, BC, Dowdle, Rozeboom, Martin, Rhattigan, Jansen, Scott... the only FAs I'm seeing on Spotrac outside of TMo that are must keeps are ERFAs Coker + Demani (so long as TMo's knee is fine, of course). 2027 on the other hand is going to be the offseason for Bryce's bonus option with Icky being the most significant UFA. PJ2, A'Shawn, Josey, MJackson, Tremble, Dalton, DJ Johnson, Zavala, and Bartholomew are the only other current FAs then. I'm of the opinion that they are all in on next season and if it doesn't go well, it's being blown up and starting from scratch. They're currently estimated to have $130M in free cap space in 2027.
