Along the Sidelines - Saints Edition

Today is a great day. The Carolina Panthers are once again in the NFL Playoffs. Together they defeated the lowly Saints of New Orleans and reclaimed their natural state of being.

Although the rain wasn't immediate, the wind arrived during pre game. It gently caressed long blonde locks as it left a chill in the air.

The day was not kind to Drew Brees. He was molested and harassed throughout the day. In fact, I bet he feels like he was just punched in the face...

Cam was hobbled by previous injuries, but still managed to produce when it counted.

Deangelo WIlliams had what may have been the largest hole of the year to run through. The TD looked easy, almost too easy.

When the rains did come, it was welcomed by the Kraken, who relished its arrival. You don't really want to tangle with a Kraken in the water, do you?

It then began to pour in buckets from the sky. I was barely able to track the ball carrier, but apparently Luke wasn't having any difficulty.

In fact, Luke set a career record for tackles in a single game. Along with Thomas Davis, I don't ever remember seing a more dominant linebacking duo in the NFL.

At times, the Panthers entire defense seemed to be made up of giants.

I believe a game ball should go to Colin Jones, who was a special teams demon all day today. He kept Sproles at bay and the Panthers in the game.

During the final drive,  the fans grew louder.

Fueled by their passion, Cam Newton connected with Ted Ginn for a big gain.

Then finally, in a play that will be remembered for many years, an unlikely hero emerged to win the game.

The Panthers, led by Cam Newton, are once again in the playoffs. That fact alone even had Santa doing the Superman.

    • You exclusively highlighted Hunter's name on the injury report and then immediately cast blame. I've pointed out that this wasn't the hospital ball you claim it to be while also acknowledging that there could have been another option to target instead of Renfrow. By everything you've expressed here, you don't think seam routes should ever be thrown. I don't know how that helps the already struggling offense, but I do know that it would make it even worse than it already is. Scapegoating never has and never will solve anything. Tell you what: Try not blaming Bryce or casting shade his way for the entire week after Arizona and instead look at the other 21 starters and assess what they're doing (again, without shading Bryce). I'll join you and refrain from exploring what the rest of the team is doing and will focus solely on what Bryce needs to do better. Deal? This is a sincere peace offering to allow us to explore the other's perspective and perhaps be even more informed football fans.
    • TMac PI throw was a TD too.  Bryce just drastically under threw it.  Renfrow and TMac set themselves up to BOTH have great days.   the story of last of no one was open…..isn’t a defense the Bryce Young defenders can use so far this year
