Hixon

So, riding out of Charlotte, listening to the radio show. Heard them say how Hixon is probably the best route runner outside of Smitty on the team.

Hixon has been hidden due to depth, but he says he and Cam have a lot of reps before, during, and after practice, trying to build that chemistry. With Smitty very likely out next week and possibly out for the first playoff game, Hixon will see the field (especially after his heroics yesterday).

I still think we need to pick a guy up in the offseason at the WR spot, but it's good to know that we have Hixon to at least give us an option with Smitty down.

The only thing Hixon is lacking this season is playing time and Cam's confidence.

 

Hopefully both are swinging his way now.

Not to say we don't need to pay close attention to the WR1 situation in the off season, but, like Gettleman says, sometimes the answer is on your roster.

I wasn't surprised at all to see it was Hixon stepping up.  That was a very difficult catch that plenty of other WRs would drop.

 

Look out, because if Smith misses any playing time we would have a dangerous duo of speed with Ginn and Hixon able to stretch the field.

 

Plus, if we earn the first round bye that would give Hixon more reps with Cam and the first team.

i didnt think hixon was very fast. but i don't know for sure.

 

people on here were screaming he was a scrub. i watched him last year with the Giants and knew he wasn't. a lot of Giants fans were upset he left. He made some insane and clutch catches last year.  i think he is similar to lafell in playing style which is probably why he hasn't gotten much playing time.

 

cam mentioned hixon in press conferences when he didnt have to. i dont know what that means entirely but it seems Cam is fond of him.

I was glad to see Hixon out there, he just needs playing time with cam, like Zod said. Just sucks it came at the expense of smitty's injury.

We really need somebody to step up and be a good player on the outside. If Hixon can come in and be good, especially at this stage, then boy gee golly am I excited.
