What's wrong with the offense? (serious thread)

Mike Shula gets retarded in moments he needs to be calling good plays

Don't think Shula was drawing up all of those overthrown balls yesterday.

Cam was throwing high all day.  Not sure if the ankle was keping him from setting his feet and stepping into the throw like he needed to....possible.

I don't understand why this account is even still here. You claim to be a Panthers fan, but loathe our franchise QB? Leave?

I'm a panthers' fan... i don't have to LOVE a certain, particular player, do i?

franchise qb??? is this set in stone?

1. can cam be one??  i believe so... or at least, certainly hope so if he continues to be a panther..

2. is he???  HELL NO!!!! not as of yet, no! far from it....

Actually. I was thinking that Rivera may shoudl have benched Cam in the 4th. Not becuase I don't believe in Cam.....I do.

It just did not appear to be his day and he looked a little gimpy on that ankle. I thought that Anderson may have been a shot in the arm to try and get our offense moving.

Then he comes out on that last drive and makes me eat crow....and it never tasted so good.

Yeah I hear you guys. Can't say that I agree, but I get it. I think that final drive should remove that thought from entering your heads ever again though!

This is what I thought Fuzz meant...

At one point I was wondering if he needed to sit too... not because he was playing badly but because he looked hurt.

Offense wise yesterday I think it was a combination of things... I think NO is a bad matchup for our offense for one, I think the playcalling wasn't our best by far (the startling lack of use of Mike Tolbert in and of itself was very noticeable) and Cam didn't play well at all (until the last drive).

Our offense has been up and down all year, so I don't think this is anything new...  it just depends on how the coaching staff deals with it.

I prefer to see them use the hurry up more, get plays in quicker and let Cam be Cam.  Let him play and improvise, and GIVE TOLBERT THE DAMNED BALL MORE.

Cam looks the best in the hurry up, I love seeing him run it, but that's not the type team that we have built here.

We are a ball control offense, with a stifling D.  That's great, but that's not who your QB is.  If we could figure out how to open and close this O a little better, I don't think that we can be stopped.

If we have to come back from two scores down, do you have faith in Shula?

No not really...  I think he overthinks things...  I don't think he's BAD but he's not that good either...

I also think we can still play ball control football while running a faster pace.

Well I guess if Rivera had followed the advice of the Tommy True Fans here, Cam wouldn't have been out there for the game winning drive, and we would have lost. I give Ron a lot of poo, but he has confidence in Cam, obviously some people here still need to learn.

steve smith is invaluable in helping cam get into a rhythm. he also demands special attention that allows guys like ginn and lafell a better chance to get open.

outside of those first series both of those things were missing, and the offense looked like dogshit for most of the game as a result.

Lets cut this "benching Cam nonsense" here an now

Would you bench Stafford after he has thrown away game repeatedly?

Would bench Tannehill for looking woefully ineffective against Buffalo?

Would you bench Sam Bradford who has look straight up pitiful at St Louis?

What the hell are people on??? You don't sit a franchise qb just because his ankle is gimp and you "want a shot in the arm"

That is the recipe for failure and it is how you destroy qbs in this league.

Hell Joe Flacco threw 5 goddamn picks and no body wants his benching.

eli manning has been woeful throughout his career before 2 sb rings, and would anyone call for his benching?

Agree. Unless Cam can't physically play, benching him never crosses your mind.

Flacco against NE at home yesterday in a somewhat of a must win game went 22/38 260, 0 touchdowns and 2 Interceptions.

ELITE.
