Official Panthers - Falcons Gameday Thread

Let's hope the offense/Cam settles down, and the receivers actually hold on to some balls.

Cam is streaky. So I expect him to come back. But he needs help from his receivers and OL.

Yes, Cam can be better. But the Panthers OL is making this bad Atlanta D look incredible at the moment. Cam has no time in the pocket.

Know why you don't constantly hear "high passes" about other NFL QBs?

Its not because they dont throw high passes.

Its because THEY have fugging receivers who CATCH them.

because throwing a receiver open or not making him leave his feet for a pass is just too easy.

Cam GUNS balls, though, which makes them really hard to catch when they're high.  A lot of QBs float balls in higher.

That is true, but even still if Hixon jumps for it that pass hits him right between the numbers. He wanted some YAC and put no effort into catching first.

I don't know about that. Cam Newton throws the ball high more than most. We just need bigger WRs.

just wondering, are you WATCHING this game?

Cam is missing guys high.

The ball was on the money to Lafell early that was dropped, but Cam is airing it out WAY high now.

Mav, why don't you simply watch the game and stop believing it's your job to analyze every one of Cam's throws. This is three fugging years, when are you folks going to give that ish a rest. Guess what? EVERy FUGING QB in the NFL overthrows, underthrows, and even throws a couple of those WTF balls. As a matter of fact, I am watching Eli pull a The Golden Calf of Bristol and throw the ball to an invisible player way outside of his receiver. GTFOI and let the kid play the game.

He's playing on a damn team with not one consistent Receiver and a ground game thatcomes and goes but every week all you folks sit and do is act like Cam is the reason this fuggin team isn't playing well. When are you going to wake up and face REALITY!!!

It pisses me off so I have to revisit. Brees lobs up passes and Graham and Colston leap 3 feet in the air and snag it. Our WRs are like "Stretch my arms up for it? lol please."

I agree that our receivers aren't the best at going up and getting the ball.  But Cam isn't lobbing the ball today.  He is throwing line drive bullets, and that is not the kind of ball a receiver can jump up and snag easily.

    • They can get film of all the games? Every team? Wow! Who knew… Our games with them are big examples of why they are in  the CB market so hard.   It is the study they do getting ready for the games.  Preparing to play against is a little different than just analyzing film in scout mode. Deeper dive. Then you are analyzing post game too.  This goes to why players often change teams but stay in the division. The opponents know each other on a higher level.  Plus if you lost to us, you used to get fired. Now you have to trade your first round pick. Moving up on the world.
    • I honestly can’t believe this team’s turnaround this season. It’s surreal. Figured healthy we’d be fringe playoffs and with another lottery pick could finally turn the corner, but we don’t even need that. This group is ready. We haven’t played remotely well the last 5 games and yet still blew out 5 bad teams by 16+ each game like it was casual practice. We had a few solid teams with Kemba and Big Al but this is easily our best group since the original Hornets moved to NO. Man, what a shift in culture this new ownership group and front office has brought. So damn happy to see it after years of suffering and consistently meaningless games in this stretch of previous seasons.   Only 2.5 games out of the 6 seed, although Miami, Atlanta and Orlando have been playing well too. Gonna be a fun final stretch, hopefully we can get a top 8 seed at the very least. Celtics tomorrow will be a good test. Would be huge to keep the road winning streak up against a very hot top team on the 2nd half of a back to back. We’ve played Boston pretty well the last few years with much of this same group despite sucking so I do feel pretty good about it. Kon is due for a huge game coming off a few cold shooting games (although despite the poor shooting he’s been contributing well with defense, assists and rebounds).
    • It amazes me how underrated Horn has become after he finally was able to stay on the field. Sure last year wasn’t perfect but he was still a huge reason for our rebound defensively and I’d say he’s easily a top 10 corner. You don’t want to see Mike Jackson as our top corner. Any player is available for the right price but I’d be extremely hesitant to move Horn even for a big haul from LA.
