Question....if its the Eagles..how do we prepare for that up tempo offense?

I believe the Taints will fold like a cheap tent in the cold of Philly and that the birds will be here. My concern is that our defense will not get much practice with that kind of against our offense these next two weeks ( our offense is pretty slow moving and ponderous, far from up tempo),so it could be a challenge. Their running back is the kind of back that tends to give us fits. I remember back in the pre-season and they shredded us.....I know we didn't game plan and the D hadn't jelled yet. Do you think RR and MCD can meet the challenge? Can they kick our offense in the ass and get them to play up tempo to simulate what our D will face during practice?

Well chop that poo down to size. :) Carolina has a whole season worth of games to game plan on plus now this unit is BATTLE tested. Saints are better than Philly with a Legit quarterback who has playoff experience and we still beat the Saints. :)

Panthers want this - Panthers will Get this  GO PANTHERS !!!

When Belichick was prepping to face the Rams in the Super Bowl, he allowed his receivers to line up with a two to three yard head start to help the defense get used to the speed of that team's attack.

There's always things you can do.  I'd say the fact that we faced them in preseason and got a look at what they were like would be a plus.

In all honesty they are battle tested and ready since the last few games.  Our offense was less then steller and the Defense was out there quite a bit each game, so I wouldn't think they would have a problem keeping up with the speed of the Eagles Offense.

Crowd noise, getting stops on 3rd down and turnovers... up-tempo offense is a double edged sword like Rivera said earlier in the year, if the Eagles can't maintain drives then it exposes their defense and our offense is well suited to take advantage of that and control the time of possession.

You can't run a high-octane up tempo offense from the sideline.

Stanford's offense beat Oregon's offense this season in CFB more than the Stanford defense shut down the Oregon offense.  Sustain your drives on offense, keep them off the field, control field position, and limit them to field goals instead of TDs.

Basically just keep doing what we have been doing.

You don't have to get to clever, if you can stop the run with the front 7 and rush the passer with the front 4 you don't need a lot of exotic defenses to stop this attack.  You have to win against your blocks and stay true to your assignments.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
